Bournemouth dent Tottenham top-four dream as Nathan Ake nets winner at the death (Match Report)

Nathan Ake netted a dramatic injury-time winner for AFC Bournemouth against nine-man Tottenham Hotspur to dent their hopes of a top-four finish.

Ake settled an incident-packed contest in favour of the hosts when he powered home a header from Ryan Fraser’s corner in the first of four minutes of stoppage-time.

The Cherries had been thankful to the exploits of debut-making goalkeeper Mark Travers who denied Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min and Dele Alli in the early stages.

But after Spurs had had Son Heung-Min and substitute Juan Foyth sent off in quick succession either side of the break, it was all one-way traffic for Eddie Howe’s team.

Only two minutes and 13 seconds after coming on as a half-time substitute, Juan Foyth was also sent off for a challenge on Jack Simpson.

As the Cherries tried to make their numerical advantage pay, Wilson saw his shot headed over the crossbar by Sissoko before Adam Smith’s drive flashed past the post.

Wilson failed to make good contact with a header from a Fraser cross, the striker’s effort going wide in the 69th minute.

Another pot-shot from Wilson flew off target before Ibe’s rasping drive from the edge of the box was punched away by Lloris.

As the Cherries continued to press, substitute Lys Mousset headed a Fraser cross straight down Lloris’s throat.

In the closing stages, another header from Mousset struck Wilson before Ake’s follow-up shot was deflected for a corner.

However, the Cherries made the breakthrough just as fourth official Simon Hooper indicated there would be four minutes of added time.

Ake found his way through a crowd of players and timed his run to perfection, the Dutchman heading home Fraser’s corner to seal a memorable victory.

A sixth successive away defeat keeps Spurs third with 70 points, four clear of fifth-placed Arsenal, who entertain Brighton & Hove Albion tomorrow.

AFC Bournemouth move up to 12th on 45 points.

REVEALED: Why Chelsea plan to commence contract talks with Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer

Reports in England claim Chelsea are set to commence contract talks with Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The midfielder has another two years left on his current deal, but club chief Marina Granovskaia, according to The Sun, wants to sit down with the academy graduate about extending his stay at Stamford Bridge beyond 2021.

Loftus-Cheek,23, was outstanding for Chelsea in the Europa League semi-final first-leg against Eintracht Frankfurt before coming off with cramp.

And the Blues midfielder is getting back to the form he showed on loan at Crystal Palace that earned him a place in the England World Cup squad.

Chelsea want to avoid a repeat of the Callum Hudson-Odoi saga where a kid who has risen through the ranks enters the final year of his deal and having to fight to keep him at the club.

Despite a back injury interrupting his season, the club are well aware of Loftus-Cheek’s frustrations about his lack of game time after his reputation was enhanced at last summer’s World Cup.

Loftus-Cheek cut short his summer break post-World Cup in order to force his way into new boss Maurizio Sarri’s plans.

Loftus-Cheek’s importance to Sarri has grown over the last few months, despite just five Premier League starts all season.

Regardless of what numbers are on offer, the midfielder may still need to be convinced his future is at Stamford Bridge.

Blues skipper Cesar Azpilicueta insists Loftus-Cheek will be a Blues superstar if he remains fit.

He said: “I have told him a lot of times that he needed to be fit. For a long time with Chelsea he wasn’t able to play and to train for a few weeks in a row.

Inter Milan set to hijack AS Roma move for Conte, offer manager massive salary as Mourinho gets 3-year contract

There are reports in Italy and France that Antonio Conte is reviewing the Inter Milan proposal, while L’Equipe claims AS Roma offered Jose Mourinho a three-year contract.

Conte is said to be offered €16m per annum by Inter Milan and massive transfer warchest to reposition the club.

The two Serie A clubs continue to plan for next season and seem to be on a similar wavelength when it comes to management options.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Roma have put a three-year deal on the table for Mourinho, but he would only accept if they qualified for the Champions League.

The other major alternative for Mou at the moment is Paris Saint-Germain, but they seem inclined to back Thomas Tuchel, even with recent poor results, reports Football Italia.

Mourinho and Conte are both on the same radar for Roma as well as Inter, with negotiations reported to be finely balanced.

Roma have not disguised their interest in signing ex-Chelsea boss Conte, but La Repubblica claim that Inter director Beppe Marotta met with Conte this week and asked him to wait before signing anything.

That is because Nerazzurri President Steven Zhang is ready to give the all-clear on Conte and a huge transfer campaign to bolster the squad.

Il Tempo newspaper points to a potentially fascinating extra that could aid Conte’s move back to Italy and boost his salary by €3m.

The latest tax law change is meant to encourage Italian talent that has emigrated looking for work to return to the Peninsula and save cash on their wages.

It would also apply to football players and tacticians, meaning Conte could in theory receive €16m per season on a three-year contract.

AC Milan impose heavy fine on Chelsea loanee Tiemoue Bakayoko, review interest in midfielder

Reports in Italy claim AC Milan have fined Tiemoue Bakayoko €90,000 for turning up late to training and could bench him against Bologna on Monday.

The incident, reports Football Italia, infuriated Coach Gennaro Gattuso and is believed to be the final straw that prompted the entire squad to be called into a five-day training retreat.

According to La Repubblica, Bakayoko apologised to the Coach and his teammates for arriving an hour late to training, as he was driving to the ground only to run out of petrol.

However, he was still fined €90,000 and will likely be dropped for Monday night’s Serie A match against Bologna.

It also added to the concerns within the club about purchasing him outright from Chelsea for €35m.

Cristiano Ronaldo scores 100th header to deny Torino famous derby victory over Juventus (Match Report)

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 100th header to cancel out the Sasa Lukic opener, avoiding the first Torino Derby win away to Juventus since 1995.

Salvatore Sirigu rushed out to push a dangerous long ball away from Cristiano Ronaldo, but Wojciech Szczesny had his gloves stung by Andrea Belotti on an Alex Berenguer through ball.

It was Toro who broke the deadlock, as Sasa Lukic caught Miralem Pjanic napping on a throw-in and curled his right-foot finish into the far top corner for his first goal in the Granata jersey.

Juventus fought back, Blaise Matuidi’s volley stinging Sirigu’s gloves and Cristiano Ronaldo drilled inches wide, but Alex Berenguer blasted over after skipping away from Pjanic.

After the restart, Cristiano Ronaldo mistimed his jump on a corner and knocked it over with his shoulder, while Spinazzola scuffed his finish wide after a promising run.

Juve began to knock at the door with a series of crosses, mostly from the left, and Bremer made a key sliding tackle on Ronaldo. At the other end, Belotti only skimmed the ball put in by Lukic from the tightest of angles, as he had got in front of Leonardo Bonucci.

Kean managed to turn his marker to test Sirigu at the near post, but Ola Aina came off the bench and within 20 seconds had surged past several Juve players to blast over the bar.

With six minutes left on the clock, Juventus finally got their equaliser when Spinazzola floated a cross to Cristiano Ronaldo, who got away from Bremer and hung in the air for what felt like an eternity to nod in. Ronaldo had also scored the winner in the Derby della Mole earlier this season and this was his 21st Serie A goal of the season.
