REVEALED: How Maurizio Sarri secured his release from Chelsea on Thursday night

Fresh information has emerged on how Maurizio Sarri secured his much-awaited release from Chelsea for him to join Juventus after a prtracted negotiations with the Stamford Bridge club.

The Italian coach finally received Chelsea’s nod to become Juventus manager after the Italian champions agreed a £7million compensation fee with Chelsea on Thursday night.

According to the Daily Mail, the two clubs struck a deal after further talks between Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia and Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici, who flew to London to try and find a resolution, on Thursday.

Sarri, 60, had two years left on his £5m-a-year Chelsea contract. And the Blues were refusing to cave into Juventus’s attempts to land Sarri on the cheap.

At one stage Juve hoped they would land Sarri for nothing as they usually refuse to pay compensation for managers.

But Chelsea dug their heels in and forced Juve to cough up in another negotiation win for Granovskaia, who was holding out for as big a compensation fee as possible, a week after she made Real Madrid agree a deal worth up to £150m for Eden Hazard despite the Belgian having just one year left on his contract.

Sarri is now clear to sign the three-year deal he agreed in principle with Juventus last month after they made him their top choice to replace Massimiliano Allegri.

The former Napoli boss will be announced as the new Juventus manager today.

He will earn up to £6.2m a year as manager of Juventus and his exit will be rubber-stamped in the next 24 hours, while Chelsea will step up their attempts to replace him with Derby boss Frank Lampard the leading candidate.

Derby are braced for an offer for Stamford Bridge legend Lampard who would bring former Blues midfielder and youth coach Jody Morris from Pride Park back to their old club as his assistant.

Barcelona target Matthijs de Ligt’s family spark speculation over PSG switch as Lique 1 champions present star with massive deal

There are reports that Matthijs de Ligt’s family have dropped a major hint that his PSG switch is close to being a done deal after they were seen in Paris looking for houses.

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported they spent Wednesday in Paris and were taken to see properties in a vehicle with tinted windows provided by PSG.

Meanwhile, De Ligt has reportedly been offered a staggering £11million a year from French giants Paris Saint-Germain in order to complete his move to the Ligue 1 champions and bring one of the summer’s transfer sagas to a close.

The Ajax star has generated an intense transfer battle between top European clubs, report the Mirror.

Manchester United and Barcelona were both heavily linked with a move for the teenager, but PSG’s financial clout and link with De Ligt’s agent Mino Raiola – who has been pictured in Paris this week, where he is believed to have held talks with PSG sporting director Antero Henrique – appears to have taken them to the front of the queue for the in-demand defender, who could now tie up his transfer in the coming days.

ESPN claim that De Ligt has been offered a huge contract of £211,000 a week by PSG, with the five-year deal on offer for the centre-back eventually worth a huge £55million over the course of the entire contract.

Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard has revealed that talk of a move to Real Madrid emerged after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

‘I think it was a good decision. We won the Europa League, it was a good campaign personally, and I just think it was the right time to join Real Madrid.’

It transpires that the pair came face-to-face in London last year with lots of suggestions it was at FIFA’s The Best awards.

Perez has been a long-term admirer of Hazard and laid the foundations of a move then, before being able to show off the club’s new signing on Thursday.

‘He joked that it would be a good time to move to Madrid,’ Hazard said in his first press conference as a Real Madrid player.

‘I thought it was very nice to hear things like that from the president of Real Madrid.’
