Fresh twist in Neymar’s dream move to Barcelona as PSG star father reveals son’s future

Contrary to reports of Neymar’s sensational return to Barcelona, the star’s father has denied the reports, insisting they are not in talks to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The Daily Mail cite reports in Brazil claiming that Barcelona officials were set to meet with Neymar’s representatives to discuss his touted move back to the club.

Esporte Interativo reported that the Paris Saint-Germain star’s father and his lawyer are already in the Catalonian capital where they will be received by compatriot Andre Cury, who brokered the deal which saw Neymar leave Barca in 2017.

However, the player’s father has insisted this is not the case and that no negotiations have started.

‘It’s not planned anytime, I’m in Brazil and I’ll stay here until my son returns to Paris,’ he told Canal Supporters.

He also reaffirmed that Neymar is a PSG player and that no plans are in place for him to leave this summer despite rumours suggesting his future lies elsewhere.

Neymar only left Barcelona to join PSG for a world-record fee of £198million two years ago.

The Brazil star is currently on the comeback trail after injury ruled him out of the Copa America.

Meanwhile, Neymar is reportedly determined to secure a return to La Liga this summer but the league’s president, Javier Tebas, admitted he hopes the forward does not return to Barcelona this summer, insisting his behaviour is ‘not good for the competition’.

REVEALED: How Real Madrid plan to sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United

Fresh reports have emerged as to how Real Madrid plan to strike Paul Pogba’s deal as Manchester United are unyieldingly continue to play hardball with the Los Blancos over the midfielder.

The Frenchman has been angling for a move away from Old Trafford and set his mind on a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Calciomercato.com, citing reports by AS, claims that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and head coach Zinedine Zidane have planned their strategy to sign the Manchester United star, the club prepared to wait until the very end of the transfer market to make their move – in a similar way to how the club signed Ronaldo Nazario on the final day of the transfer market from Inter Milan in 2002.

Juventus were thought to have been Pogba’s preferred choice of destination, having already played for the Bianconeri and therefore having friends within the club – as well as relishing the potential chance to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in Turin.

Raheem Sterling reveals why he left Liverpool to join Manchester City

Raheem Sterling has revealed that his desire to win the Premier League forced him to quit Liverpool.

The England star left Anfield for Manchester City in a £49m deal in 2015 as he became the most-expensive English player ever.

Sterling, 24, just turned down a huge offer from Liverpool to move to the Etihad and he faced huge criticism from the red half of Merseyside after completing the move, report the Daily Mirror.

Sterling’s decision has ultimately been justified though after playing a pivotal role in City’s back-to-back Premier League title wins.

And he admits his personal ambition was behind his decision to walk away from Liverpool.

Speaking to GQ magazine , in which Sterling is the cover star for August, the City forward said: “When I got into Liverpool I said if I haven’t won the Premier League by the time I’m 21 I need to look at my options and see what I’m doing there.

“I put that into place from a young age. And I came to City and won my first Premier League.

“It’s just good to know what I’ve set out to do – what we’ve set out as a team to do – is going as planned.”

Sterling often faced negative press earlier in his career with many believing he made the move to City for the money.

He adds: “There was a point when I left Liverpool I actually thought, “Why should this little black kid have this money?”

“That’s at one point how I felt, the stories that were coming out…Why should he?”

On his Spanish boss, Sterling added: ““He has challenged me, never let me be comfortable. Every year he has bought a new winger.

“So for me it’s like, “Cool. OK. I’ve done OK.” And now, the last season, he’s just got another one.

“He’s demanding, but it’s good. It makes you want to do better and – I don’t know how to explain this – makes you want to prove to him and show him every time you go on the field you’re playing for your position in his team, because of the numbers we have and the quality we have as well.”

Manchester United set to hijack Manchester City move for England national team star

Manchester United have reportedly moved ahead of rivals Manchester City in the pursuit of Harry Maguire after increasing their bid to £70m for the Leicester defender.

According to Sky Sports, talks between both Manchester clubs and Leicester have been ongoing for several weeks but, as yet, a deal is still thought to be some way from being agreed.

Maguire is understood to be happy at Leicester and won’t attempt to force a transfer, but is open to the idea of a move to one of the Premier League’s leading six sides.

Leicester’s position has always been that they have no desire or need to sell and would only consider a bid in excess of the £75m world-record fee paid by Liverpool for Virgil van Dijk.

However, they will welcome the prospect of two big clubs bidding against each other for one of their prized assets.

Former Liverpool key target offered to Arsenal as hope for Wilfried Zaha transfer fades

Reports in England claim Arsenal have been given the chance to sign Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir.

According to the Daily Mirror, France international Fekir has been offered to the Gunners for a cut-price £30m – half the sum that Liverpool agreed to pay for the forward before his move to Anfield broke down over a failed medical.

Arsenal have bid £40m for Wilfried Zaha but, with Palace valuing the winger at twice that amount, switching their attention to Fekir could prove a more fruitful task.

Palace have sold Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United for £50m, the club do not want to sell Zaha and value him at £80m – double what Arsenal have initially tabled.

But there may be an alternative for the Gunners with former Liverpool target Fekir being offered to the club for just £30million.

Fekir very nearly completed a switch to the Reds last summer with Liverpool preparing to pay double the fee Arsenal have been quoted for the Frenchman.

But the transfer was cancelled at the eleventh hour following Fekir’s medical at Melwood.
