Real Madrid fans blast Eden Hazard

Real Madrid fans have blasted their new signing Eden Hazard, accusing him of getting “fat” over the summer.

The Sun reports that some supporters took to social media after a picture of Hazard in his Real training gear went viral.

The former Chelsea star appears to have gained one or two pounds, surely inevitable after securing his dream switch on the back of winning yet another trophy.

But Real fans appear to be annoyed that Hazard has reported for duty in a less-than-perfect condition.

And their anger has been exacerbated by a Photoshop fail showing Hazard’s head on top of Karim Benzema’s body.

One Los Blancos supporter wrote: “We really paid 100 mil for a fat Hazard.”

Another said: “Ffs how does Hazard even do to become so fat in just 1 month??? That’s beyond human capabilities.”

One tweeted: “Is it me or did Madrid sign a fat Hazard?”

Another noted: “It actually bothers me how fat Hazard is yet he’s still a top 5 player. Imagine if he slimmed down and gained more lean muscle mass.”

One added: “Typical Eden returning with that fat off season belly.”

It’s not the first time Hazard’s weight has come under the limelight, with Gonzalo Higuain and David Luiz poking fun at his tummy after the 4-1 Europa League final victory over Arsenal in May.

Ander Herrera reveals why he left Manchester United despite Solskjaer’s late move to keep him

Paris Saint-Germain new boy Ander Herrera has revealed he left Manchester United because of a difference of opinion over his role in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans.

The 29-year-old Spaniard signed for Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer earlier this month after five years at Old Trafford.

Asked why he left, Herrera told Spanish newspaper Marca: ‘I do not like looking at the past very much, but there were differences regarding the project and my importance within it.

‘I was very happy, I have a lot to thank the club and the fans for it and also Solskjaer. He did a lot for me to stay, but things did not happen, they arrived late, and by then I had already made the decision to play in Paris.’

It is understood that Herrera was asking for more than £350,000-a-week to extend his contract at United.

Meanwghile, the Spaniard’s former United team-mate David de Gea has repeatedly been linked with a move to PSG in recent years.

But Herrera was coy when asked about the possibility, citing the quality of PSG’s goalkeepers Alphonse Areola and Kevin Trapp, reports the Daily Mail.

He said: ‘David is my friend, I have a great relationship with him and, of course, he is one of the best in the world, for me top three. But here there are already two great goalkeepers.’

Herrera’s arrival in Paris coincided with continuing speculation over the futures of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, but asked if he expected both to stay next season, he replied: ‘Yes, I believe it.’

OFFICIAL: Okereke completes Club Brugge transfer

Club Brugge have officially completed the signing of striker David Okereke from Serie B side Spezia.

A statement on Club Brugge’s official website claims Okereke rejected ‘many offers’ to join them on a four-year contract.

The Belgian club have paid a reported €8m for the Nigerian who turns 21 next month.

He scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists in 30 Serie B games last season, which caught the eye of Sassuolo, report Football Italia.

He has big boots to fill as Aston Villa recently splashed out a club-record €25m to sign his predecessor Wesley.

Nonetheless, the move represents a big step-up for the Nigerian, who was only plying his trade in Serie D four years ago.

Okereke becomes the second player to leave Spezia today after Tommaso Augello, who signed for Sampdoria.
