Maurizio Sarri reveals his mother was “not at all happy” when he left Chelsea to join Juventus

Maurizio Sarri has revealed his Fiorentina-supporting Mother was “not at all happy” when he took the Juventus job.

It is just a stone’s throw from his hometown and Sarri was asked about suggestions his Mother threatened not to talk to him anymore if he took the job with Fiorentina’s arch-rivals Juve.

“She was not at all happy, let’s put it that way…” smiled the Coach in a Press conference.

“My grandmother lived 500 metres from the stadium, so our family were all committed Viola fans, apart from me, as I supported Napoli.

“I have many memories of this stadium, but unfortunately the only one I can see right now is my most recent, as I lost a Scudetto here. I need to swiftly replace that with a positive memory.”

Sarri was born in Naples, where his father was working at the time, but moved back to Tuscany when he was little and maintained the Napoli passion, report Football Italia.

He almost took the Serie A title to Napoli in 2018, but a 3-0 defeat at the Stadio Franchi effectively allowed Juve to retain their championship.

REVEALED AT LAST: How Abramovich showered Chelsea stars with fistfuls of cash in dressing room after defeating Arsenal in Champions League match

Fresh reports have confirmed how Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich paid Chelsea players £50,000 in cash after a Champions League quarter-final win over Arsenal in 2004.

The Premier League club strongly denied at the time but one scorer that night — as the Blues won 2-1 at Highbury, 3-2 on aggregate — revealed Roman Abramovich agreed to pay “double bubble” in the dressing room.

Uefa do not regulate performance bonuses and clubs can adjust their payment schedules as they navigate through the Champions League.

That is precisely what seems to have happened when Adrian Mutu made the outrageous demand after Chelsea sealed a semi-final clash with Monaco, report The Sun.

Wayne Bridge, who got the late winner at Arsenal, told the Liquid Football podcast: “I don’t score many and in the changing room afterwards the atmosphere was unbelievable.

“Roman Abramovich came, everyone was jumping up and down. Adrian Mutu said “double bonus” and Roman just nodded and goes ‘there you go’.

“Double bubble bonus — yeah. Believe me our bonuses were big enough already, we didn’t need it — but he did do it. Unbelievable, he did it.”
