REVEALED: Two obstacles standing between Olivier Giroud and Serie A move

Reports in Italy claim there are two major obstacles that may scuttle Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud’s transfer to to Inter Milan.

The Nerrazurri boss Antonio Conte is reportedly keen to add the Frenchman to his attack as Chile international Alex Sanchez is on the sidelines as a result of injury.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two stumbling blocks are his wage demands and length of contract.

The former Juventus boss worked with the Frenchman at Chelsea and would like a reunion at Inter.

The 33-year-old, for his part, wants to make Didier Deschamps’ France Euro 2020 squad and needs more playing time.

The France international currently earns around €8m a season at Stamford Bridge, something the Inter hierarchy won’t consider offering him.

The other issue is the duration of any agreement, as Inter would like to offer Giroud an 18-month contract, whereas the striker wants a deal to run to 2022.
