Thomas Muller identifies two Chelsea stars as threats to Bayern Munich’s dream in Champions League

Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller has named Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic as Chelsea’s main threats ahead of the Blues Champions League clash.

He said: “With Chelsea, I haven’t seen a lot of them besides their results, but it doesn’t seem to be going so well at the moment.

“But of course they have players in their attack who can hurt us.

“Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic have qualities but football is not about individuals, it’s about team performance.

“We are relatively confident, I feel pretty good with the draw. ‘You [the German media] have already planted Bayern as the favourite, I like that, that’s exactly what we want.”

“We are on revenge mission”-Bayern Munich chief warns Chelsea

Bayern Munich chief Andreas Jung has claimed are out for revenge when they face Chelsea in the Champions League.

The Bundesliga side lost on penalties against the Blues in the 2012 Champions League final.

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba scored a last-gasp goal to take the final to extra-time in Bayern’s own Allianz Arena, and current manager Frank Lampard lifted the trophy after a 4-3 penalty shoot-out victory.

The victory in Germany was Chelsea’s first Champions League trophy.

Jung made the declaration after the two side were drawn against each other .

Speaking after the draw, the Bayern Munich chief said: “It’s about time Bayern beat Chelsea, it’s true.

“There has only been the one match in Munich, although there was another one in the Super Cup in Prague in 2013 when we won on penalties.

“Nevertheless, I think Chelsea are a very strong team, a very experienced team, and I think it will be two tough and tight matches for sure.”

Champions League Round of 16: Chelsea get Bayern Munich in rematch of 2012 final

Chelsea are billed to face five-time champions Bayern Munich in what appears to be a rematch of the 2012 Champions League final, which the London club won right in the Alliaz Arena.

Napoli are drawn Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League, whilst Juventus get Olympique Lyonnais and Atalanta are rewarded with Valencia.

The Old Lady have played Lyon four times in the Champions League and are unbeaten against the Ligue 1 club, winning three and drawing once.

The first legs will be played on February 18, 19, 25 and 26, with the returns on March 10, 11, 17 and 18.
