Jorginho reveals why Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa was fined

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho claims teammate Kepa Arrizabalaga was fined for being “a little fat.”

The revelation was made as Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic played a game with ESPN Brazil where one of them would have to guess the name of a Chelsea player using a series of clues from the other.

According to The Sun, when Kovacic was given Kepa’s name, he presented a clue to Jorginho by saying: “He’s a little fat.”

When Jorginho responded by saying that there was at least two Chelsea players who have had issues with weight, Kovacic cheekily added: “He could be a manager.”

That was a hilarious dig at Kepa’s infamous bust-up with former manager Maurizio Sarri in last season’s Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.

And armed with two key clues, Jorginho was finally able to say the mystery man was indeed Kepa.

The Italian then said: “He paid a fine. I think he’s paid a fine because he’s chubby.

“Kepa? You killed him in this one. He will remember that.”

Frank Lampard’s list of fines was leaked online earlier this season, but there is no suggestion that players who are overweight are docked any cash.

However, Jorginho has now indicated that players carrying excess baggage may have to cough up as punishment.

Frank Lampard reveals why Chelsea applied 3-4-3 formation in win over Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham

Blues boss Frank Lampard has revealed the rationale behind Chelsea’s 3-4-3 formation that rattled Tottenham on Sunday, handing the visitors the three points at stake.

Aodpting the formation that was made popular at Stamford Bridge by former manager Antonio Conte, Lampard said: “We’ve played it a few times, we’ve gone to it in games, and I think it can work.

“The reason we played it at Tottenham was because we had a good look at how they play and I felt it was the best way for us to play.

“I spoke with the staff a lot last week and we worked on it a lot in training, and it did work.

“So it’s certainly something we can use and we’ll see how we go going forward.”

Willian wants to stay at Chelsea until he’s 40 years old

Willian has expressed his desire to stay at Chelsea until he is 40 years old and is currently in talks over his future.

The 31-year-old is due to be out of contract at the end of the season and has previously been a transfer target for Barcelona.

The Brazilian has enjoyed a significant improvement in form in recent weeks, most recently scoring twice as Chelsea beat Tottenham 2-0 on Sunday.

Despite being free to enter pre-contract negotiations with foreign clubs in January, Willian revealed he has already began talks with Chelsea over his future, report SkySports.

“Everyone knows how I love this club and how I enjoy to play for Chelsea. If I can, I will stay here until I am 40 years old but football is not always like this,” he told Sky Sports.

“[I want to stay] because I like to play here. It’s not only my decision, we have to decide together with the club. We’ve had some conversations.

“I hope I can say to you guys that I will stay but now I cannot say.”
