AC Milan joins chase as Victor Osimhen keeps Napoli waiting

Reports in Italy claim AC Milan have entered the race to sign Lille striker Victor Osimhen, although Napoli remain strong contenders.

Osimhen visited the Napoli facilities, meeting with coach Gennaro Gattuso and President Aurelio De Laurentiis last week.

He wanted time to consider all the options, including waiting for an offer from the Premier League, but that does not appear to be materialising.

Now, according to Football Italia, relying on sources in Nigeria, suggest Milan are in the picture too, preparing their own proposal for Lille and the 21-year-old forward.

The asking price is expected to be at least €50m, so the Rossoneri would try to include some players to lower the cost of the operation.

There had been reports in France over the last few days that Inter were making a bid, but that was swiftly rejected by many Italian transfer experts.

It’s possible there was a miscommunication, as the interest was from Inter’s city rivals, AC Milan.

Osimhen scored 13 goals in 27 Ligue 1 games this season, reaching 18 goals in 38 competitive matches overall for Lille.

A decision is expected by Monday or Tuesday, as the new intermediary involved has helped Osimhen feel less pressure from his entourage and agent to join Napoli.

This is giving him the freedom to choose his next destination and fully evaluate all the proposals in front of him, which now also appears to include Milan.

Chelsea eyeing another striker to join Timo Werner

Chelsea are interested in Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic, reports claim.

The Blues have already completed the capture of RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner but manager Frank Lampard wants to further bolster his options.

Chelsea could shake things up in the attacking department with plenty of ins and outs expected at Stamford Bridge during the upcoming transfer window.

Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo claim Chelsea are ‘closely’ following Real Madrid forward Luka Jovic.

Jovic, 22, earned his £55million transfer to Real Madrid after an outstanding two-season spell with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The seven-cap Serbia international scored 36 goals and provided nine assists in 75 appearances – helping the Bundesliga side reach the Europa League semi-final stage.

But things haven’t gone according to plan since signing a six-year contract with Zinedine Zidane’s side.

Jovic has managed just two goals in 25 appearances for Real Madrid and those came during thrashings of Osasuna and rock-bottom Leganes.

Furious Chelsea fans identify Blues star responsible for loss against Sheffield, slam him for dismal display

It is no longer news that Chelsea lost scandalously to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Sunday.

The fans of the club have however identified Jorginho as the root cause of the woeful day at the office for Chelsea.

The Blues, third in the Premier League table at the start of the day, slumped to a disappointing 3-0 defeat away at Sheffield United.

London rivals Tottenham struggled at Bramall Lane last week, and Chelsea fared no better, turning in a disastrous performance, opening the door for both Manchester United and Leicester City to move above them in the table on Sunday.

Without a Premier League goal all season – although he has had two disallowed by VAR – David McGoldrick broke his duck with a double, one in each half, with an Oli McBurnie header making it 2-0.

Lampard has faced a number of questions of late about Jorginho’s position in the team, with the Italian struggling to make it into the starting lineup.

The Italian was, however, given a starting berth in the match, but the Blues supporters may be wishing he had been left on the bench after a poor performance.

He was the one player who stood out for criticism from the Blues supporters on Twitter.

Jorginho has been linked with a move to Juventus, to team up with former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri once more.

And by the looks of them, the Chelsea fanbase would be more than happy to see him go after that display.
