HALF-TIME REPORT: Manchester United 0-1 Chelsea (Watch Olivier Giroud’s goal)

The first half ended with Chelsea leading through Olivier Giroud’s goal in the second semi-final of the FA Cup at Wembley.

Chelsea countered as the ball was fired in low and the striker got a touch on it deflecting it past David de Gea.

It’s a great ball in by Cesar Azpilicueta – and a deft touch from the Frenchman.

The keeper gets a hand to it but it trickles over the line – he could have done better.

There has, however, been more injury woe for Eric Bailly after the centre-back was stretchered off following a sickening clash of heads with Harry Maguire, before Olivier Giroud netted the opener in the 11th minute of added time.

It had been a cagey affair, before the seemingly endless stoppage time caused by the jarring head injury suffered by Eric Bailly.

United have not adapted to their formation today – bringing on Martial will help them in the second half.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hits back at Frank Lampard

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hit back at Frank Lampard’s worries that Manchester United might be given a favourable VAR call tomorrow evening.

The boss said: “If you look at the factual decisions – I don’t want to sound like a certain manager talking about facts – but if you’re offside you’re offside, that’s clear.

“Talking about lucky; the penalty we got against Tottenham in the last minute that was taken away from us; that might be two points for us.

“Talking about the red card [Oriol] Romeu should have had against us when he almost got Mason Greenwood crippled, that should’ve been a red card, maybe that would’ve helped us.”

He added: “There’s a narrative there but we have to focus on our games, we let other people talk about that. I don’t wanna go too much into it because I might be in trouble! I hope I’m not now!

“I’m pretty relaxed on these and refs are gonna be making objective decisions and are not gonna be influenced by any emotion in any way, so I don’t think they’ll read [what Lampard said].”

Frank Lampard reveals secret behind Christian Pulisic’s fantastic form

Frank Lampard has claimed gruelling gym sessions are the secret to Christian Pulisic’s impressive spell of form.

Since the restart, the United States international has been churning out impressive displays on the field of play.

Pulisic has nine goals and nine assists across all competitions in his first season at Stamford Bridge, despite being sidelined for two months with an abductor injury.

The Chelsea ace has really found his feet since the Premier League restarted in June, scoring three goals and supplying three assists while also winning two penalties in his last seven league outings.

He said: “He has worked a lot with our strength and conditioning coach, Adam Burrows, who is fantastic.

“They have worked a lot together, but it is Christian who has to take on that responsibility and he has.

“Physically that has helped him. Also, just his talent coming through.

“Looking forward, I probably want to see more of what he has shown in recent times, which is goals and assists, because that is what the best in the world do in that position.

Willian: What I want from Chelsea

Willian has reiterated his desire to sign a three-year contract and stay with Chelsea.

The club have so far offered only a two-year deal, according to the player himself, leading to a stall in talks.

Willian told Brazilian YouTube channel De Sola: “I already had a conversation with the club a few months ago, even before this stop.

“Chelsea only offered me two years and I asked for three.

“My goal in the next contract is to sign for three years. So I haven’t had a deal with Chelsea yet.

“This is what I asked the club for, three years of contract. If you give me that, I’ll get the pen and sign the contract tomorrow.”
