Borussia Dortmund battle Bayer Leverkusen, Everton for red-hot former Chelsea star

There are reports that Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen are battling Everton to sign former Chelsea winger Jeremie Boga.

SkySports claim that Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti was interested in signing the Sassuolo wideman during his time at Napoli, who under Gennaro Gattuso, remain keen to sign the 23-year old.

Importantly, Sassuolo have recently agreed a deal with Chelsea to cancel their buy-back clause, which would have allowed Frank Lampard to re-sign their former academy player for around £13m.

Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen have both held preliminary discussions over a possible deal for the Ivory Coast international, who may be looking to fill the vacancies left if Jadon Sancho and Kai Havertz head to the Premier League.

Born in Marseille, Boga enjoyed loan spells in La Liga (Granada), Ligue 1 (Rennes) and in the Championship (with Birmingham City) before moving to Serie A.

He’s continued to impress since then and it’s thought Sassuolo will be looking for a fee in excess of £25m for a player who joined in 2018 for just £3.5m – and has two years left on his present deal.

Hakim Ziyech dazzles Frank Lampard in training

Hakim Ziyech is already giving boss Frank Lampard something to cheer in training, earning a round of applause from his boss..

The 27-year-old joined from Ajax for £37million and is training with the Blues despite not being eligible to play until next season.

The Moroccan’s arrival was announced back in February and he seems to already be making an impression in West London.

Ziyech was on red hot form in a training session involving those who did not play against Liverpool in midweek.

Chelsea’s new addition dazzled at Cobham, giving fans a glimpse of what they can expect to see from their new signing.

Cameras captured him scooping a ball in for Pedro to volley home at Chelsea’s Surrey training base.

And his manager was clearly impressed as Lampard could be seen giving the free-flowing move a round of applause from the touchline.

Timo Werner takes part in first Chelsea training session, set to grab his dream shirt number

Chelsea’s new-boy Timo Werner took part in his first training session as the London club’s player on Monday morning.

He touched down in England over the weekend and was at Stamford Bridge on Sunday to watch his new club beat Wolves and secure Champions League football for next season.

The Germany international did not train with his new team-mates with Frank Lampard giving his squad a well-deserved day off following Sunday’s victory.

The 24-year-old was instead put through his paces alone at Cobham with plenty of stretching and fitness work before focusing on ball work, dribbling and some finishing exercises, report the Sportsmail.

He wore plain Chelsea training gear during his first session with Blues coaches at the club’s Cobham base, having completed his £53million move from RB Leipzig earlier this summer.

However, the prolific striker looks set to claim his favoured shirt number at Stamford Bridge following the exit of Pedro.

Securing Werner’s signature was seen as a big coup for Chelsea with the striker one of the most prolific scorers in Europe.

He netted 34 times for Leipzig in all competitions this term before deciding to skip their Champions League campaign to sign for the west London club in a bid to settle down quickly ahead of next season.

Werner appears to have adapted to his new surroundings and was spotted sharing a joke with Chelsea legend and the club’s current technical and performance adviser Petr Cech on Sunday.

Lampard reveals what he expects Timo Werner to bring to Chelsea having watched Blues last match

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has explained what he’s expecting the club’s newboy to bring to the team having watched the Blues from the stands.

The Germany international arrived in England earlier in the day with the hope of watching his new club play their last match in the Premier League against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Mason Mount and Olivier Giroud scored the goals that confirmed a top-four finish for Chelsea as they beat Wolves at Stamford Bridge.

After the match Lampard said: “He was here today and I am hoping he would have seen a team play with a lot of spirit and professionalism to get through a game which was potentially very difficult for us.

“He would have seen a moment like Mason Mount did to break the deadlock, which is a problem we have had this season, control a game, not score and then conceded. We have things we want to improve on.

“But I think he would see we have talent in the squad, a real resilience and strong quality in the group and then he can bring his qualities to that. Hopefully it was a nice first viewing for him and we look forward to having him next season.”

Frank Lampard prime target’s manager plays hardball with Chelsea, says “he’s not going anywhere”

David Moyes expects Declan Rice to play for West Ham next season, warning: Only a steel van of cold, hard cash would tempt us.

Frank Lampard is reportedly desperate to add the former Blues academy graduate to his team.

The Hammers’ owners will have to pay hardball with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United, who are chasing £70m-rated midfielder Rice.

The England star, 21, has been one of the stars of the season as the Hammers secured their Premier League status.

Moyes said: “Declan is under contract.

“He goes on holidays now as far as I know. Hopefully he is selected for England.

“He will be back in pre-season with us in three weeks. That’s as much as I can tell you.

“Rightly so Declan should have attention because he’s such a good player.

“But he’s not going anywhere unless you get one of those steel vans that have the cash in it. You better bring one of them!”
