Antonio Conte’s new boy Alexis Sanchez aims dig at Manchester United

Former Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has took a dig at Manchester United after completing his move to Inter Milan.

The 31-year-old striker, said to have got a £9m pay-off to get his £505,000-a-week wages off the books, suggested his new club had more desire to win something big.

The Chilean striker, who spent this season on loan at the Serie A club, took to social media to aim a parting shot at United.

He said: “I’m really happy to be staying here with you, Inter fans. I’ve found a family here and the staff are great.

“It’s a group where there’s a real desire to win something big.

“People here want to fight together as a team to give the club the success it deserves.”

Barcelona’s talisman Lionel Messi scored a wonder goal, the Catalans’ second goal against Napoli in their Champions League last 16 second leg at home.

Quique Setien’s side eventually defeated the Italians 3-1, and 4-2 on aggregate to cruise into the Champions League quarter finals.

However, just as he has done so many times in the past, Messi stepped up at the crucial moment to hand the Catalans a giant advantage in their push for a 13th consecutive quarter final spot.

Despite being faced by a wall of Napoli defenders inside the box, Messi wriggled his way past two challenges, slipped over, and then curled an effort beyond David Ospina.

Chelsea plan to hijack Liverpool move for defence ace (Watch his video)

Chelsea are planning to hijack Liverpool’s move for Brighton defender Ben White – and ditch Antonio Rudiger in the process.

Liverpool are determined to make a £20m move for the defender following his successful spell with Leeds United but Chelsea are, according to the Daily Star, said to be plotting to gazump the Jurgen Klopp’s side.

But the chances of that happening are increasingly slim, with Liverpool poised to make an opening £20million bid and Chelsea prepared to better anything on the table.

Frank Lampard’s overhaul of the leakiest rearguard in the top half of last season’s Premier League is about to get ruthless.

And it appears German international Rudiger will be one of the big-name casualties at the back this summer – along with out-of-favour Spanish keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Rudiger’s departure will further clear the way for the Blues to battle against champions Liverpool for the signature of White.

Meanwhile, Leeds United have reportedly seen a second bid for the Brighton defender rejected by the Seagulls.

White enjoyed a hugely successful season on loan at the Championship winners with Marcelo Bielsa keen to secure a permanent transfer.

Though Brighton are trying to tie White down to a new contract on the south coast as he has two seasons, plus the option of a third, remaining on his current deal.

Leeds were unsuccessful with an initial £18.5m offer for the centre-back and Sky Sports claim an improved £22m bid has also been rejected, adding that White has turned down two contract offers from Brighton.

Brighton boss Graham Potter said last month White would not be joining Leeds because he wants him back at the Amex Stadium.

Despite him not yet making a senior appearance for the club, Albion have slapped a £40m price-tag on the youngster – under contract until June 2022.

However, if that figure will make Jurgen Klopp’s Reds think twice, it will not deter Chelsea, who are spending big after completing a two-window transfer ban.

Chelsea handed massive boost in Declan Rice chase

Reports in England claim that Chelsea have been handed a boost in their bid to sign West Ham’s star Declan Rice as the midfielder may have to be sold if his want to bring in several new faces to strengthen their squad.

Chelsea lead the race for England midfielder Rice, 21, with boss Frank Lampard looking to convert him back into a defender to help solve the problem area in his side.

The Hammers insist they have no desire to sell their player of the year but it would be hard to turn down any offers that get close to their £70million valuation.

Manager David Moyes wants to freshen up a squad he led to Premier League survival.

But, according to The Sun, with money short because of the lack of revenue from empty stadiums, cashing in on their main man might be the only step open to them.

The club have a strong interest in QPR’s £20m-rated attacker Eberechi Eze and Brentford forward Said Benrahma.

But the resources are not there to make a bid for either at present, with Moyes having to prioritise bringing in a new defender before looking at any creative players.

The hope is money can be generated by offloading Manuel Lanzini, Felipe Anderson and Fabian Balbuena although there are no moves on the horizon for them at present.

With time ticking before the new season, it is growing likely West Ham will have to let Rice leave if the right offer comes in.

Chelsea identify Kai Havertz’s alternative if star’s deal collapses

Chelsea have identified Lille attacker Jonathan Ikone as an alternative for Kai Havertz, should a deal collapse.

The Blues are set to sign the Germany international from Bayer Leverkusen but a deal is being held up by the German side’s involvement in the Europa League.

While Chelsea remain confident of a deal, Le 10 Sport suggests they have a back-up plan if, for whatever reason, a move for Havertz collapses.

The reports suggest that Ikone is that back-up, with the forward’s role at Lille uncertain ahead of the planned signings of Jonathan David and Alfredo Morelos.
