(Watch Goal on Video) Werner scores against Spain… FT: Germany 1-1 Spain

Chelsea star Timo Werner has shot Germany into the lead against Spain in the UEFA Nations League.

The striker broke the deadlock with a slick finish in the 50th minute of the game via a right footed shot from the centre of the box to the centre of the goal.

Gosens latched onto a great cross field pass, and he found Werner in the box. He took the ball past his man deftly to the right, and then fired it home past De Gea, who had no chance this time, the Manchester United goalkeeper didn’t even dive for it

Drama as Barcelona president “visits” Lionel Messi’s father ahead of exit talks (Watch video clips)

The Spanish media call it “bizzare” when Barcelona President traveled to Lionel Messi’s father’s flat, but refused to enter in another twist in the future of Lionel Messi.

But the Daily Mail report that the Lionel Messi-Barcelona saga took another farcical turn when Spanish media filmed Josep Bartomeu’s car circling Jorge Messi’s flat in the city.

Bartomeu was not in the car, leading to speculation on Twitter that he a) was in the boot, b) had tried to fool media with a decoy or c) had been left behind by mistake by an absent-minded chauffeur.

The duo were set for showdown talks on Wednesday afternoon to clarify the six-time Ballon d’Or winner’s future.

The Argentine superstar sent shockwaves throughout football after informing Barcelona recently, via fax, that he wanted to leave the club on a free transfer.

However, the transfer saga took another twist after Bartomeu’s car – without the Barca chief inside – rocked up at the flat on Wednesday before turning around and driving off again.

Messi’s father arrived in the Catalan city on Wednesday morning to negotiate his son’s exit with the first face-to-face talks with Bartomeu since the Argentine sent a burofax informing the club he wants to move on – with Manchester City his expected landing spot.

Bartomeu was reportedly only planning to use the meeting as a way to convince Messi to remain at the club.

The beleaguered president has a better relationship with Jorge than he does with Messi and is hopeful that could work to the club’s advantage.

But Messi’s father – before talks were set to get underway – confessed it is ‘difficult’ to see his son staying in Barcelona this summer.

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos wades into Lionel Messi feud with Barcelona

Sergio Ramos believes his Barcelona counterpart Lionel Messi has earned the right to leave the club on his own terms, but has questioned the manner of his exit.

The Spain central defender also said that he is hopeful the Argentine will change his mind and remain at the Camp Nou next season despite his current intentions to leave.

The two players have been rivals for 14 seasons on the pitch and have clashed in multiple El Clasico fixtures throughout the years, becoming two of the most iconic players in Spanish football.

“I believe that Messi has earned the respect of deciding his future, I don’t know if he is doing it in the best way or not,” Ramos told reporters, in quotes carried by El Mundo as cited by Football Espana.

“But for Spanish football and for Barça, we all want them to have the best players. We would like Messi to always stay here.

“Messi makes the Spanish league and his team better, and the Clasicos more beautiful. He is one of the best in the world, there is little more to add, he has earned respect, without any speculation, and we will see what happens.”
