Bayern Munich end interest in Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Lemar, enter into talks with Chelsea for Blues star

Bayern Munich have reportedly pulled the plug on a loan move for Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Lemar.

Bild claims the Germans do not want to fork out £15m in wages and fees for the Frenchman.

Bayern are understood to now be targeting Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi.

They want to take him on loan before making the deal permanent next summer.

The Bundesliga have therefore reportedly entered into talks with Chelsea over move for Hudson-Odoi.

Sky Germany claims the Champions League holders have returned for Chelsea’s wonderkid winger with just days left in the transfer window.

Bayern failed with a £45million offer for Chelsea youngster last year.

Sadio Mane tests positive for COVID-19

Sadio Mane has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently self-isolating according to the necessary guidelines.

The Senegal international is the second Liverpool player to be infected with the virus, and will consequentlty miss the Reds match against Aston Villa.

Liverpool confirmed Man had exhibited some “minor symptoms” of coronavirus but overall fells “in good health”.

The forward, who started and scored in Monday’s 3-1 victory over Arsenal, has displayed minor symptoms of the virus but feels in good health overall.

However, like with Thiago Alcantara, Liverpool Football Club are – and will continue to – follow all protocols relating to COVID-19 and Mane will self-isolate for the required period of time.

Kurt Zouma’s highly-rated brother joins League Two club

Barrow AFC have confirmed the arrival of Yoan Zouma from Bolton Wanderers.

The 22-year-old, brother of Blues star Kurt, made 23 appearances in all competitions last season.

League Two side Barrow confirmed the transfer with a statement on their club website.

Barrow boss David Dunn said: “Yoan played in League One last year and he’s a player I have been aware of because I’ve watched him over the last couple of seasons,” Dunn explained.

“He has some really good attributes; he’s quick, he defends the space in behind really well and I feel like we have got another player in who is going to be really good for the future.”

Zouma has been handed squad number 18 and will go straight in to contention for a Bluebirds debut in this weekend’s Cumbrian derby at Carlisle United.

Tension grips Chelsea players

Reports in England indicate that the current atmosphere at Chelsea is tense, with manager Frank Lampard in the midst of shaping a squad which has brought in six new faces this summer.

Marcos Alonso is one of those whose future is uncertain, with rampant speculation about his future, and things came to a head after the 3-3 draw with West Brom when Lampard gave him a public dressing down in front of the rest of the squad.

Along with Alonso, the future is uncertain for Kepa Arrizabalaga, Victor Moses, Antonio Rudiger, Emerson Palmieri, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Jorginho and Fikayo Tomori could leave the club before the deadline with either a permanent or loan move this summer.

According to a report from the Athletic, things are tense at Chelsea right now, with uncertainty surrounding a number of players and some pushing for an exit.

Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Kai Havertz and Edouard Mendy have all been brought in to strengthen the first team.

Both Chilwell and Mendy were signed to address the problem areas of left-back and goalkeeper but neither have featured in the Premier League yet.

It is clear that Chelsea are still a side in transition, with new signings needing to be bedded in, youngsters needing to gain experience and fringe players needing to be shipped out.

When Lampard helped persuade the in-demand Werner and Havertz to make the move to Stamford Bridge, he spoke about Chelsea’s three-year plan to get back to the top and he needs time to execute this plan.

Along with Chilwell and Mendy, both Ziyech and Christian Pulisic are yet to feature this season with the pair recovering from injuries.

Crystal Palace close in on Chelsea fans’ favourite target

Crystal Palace have reportedly stepped up their interest in Brentford forward Said Benrahma.

Towards the end of last season, Chelsea fans were clamouring for the wing wizard, putting pressure on their club’s chief Marina Granovskaia.

Sky Sports reported several weeks ago that the Eagles were keen on the winger and a bid was anticipated.

The Bees have not yet received any offers for the Algeria international, however.

Benrahma has been playing for Brentford and scored twice in last night’s 3-0 EFL Cup win over local rivals Fulham.

Napoli join PSG, AC Milan in race to sign Chelsea star

Reports in Italy claim that Gennaro Gattuso is seeking a reunion with Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko as Napoli are making move to sign the Blues flop.

The Italian gaffer was in charge of the Rossoneri when Bakayoko was farmed to the Serie A club.

However, now the Frenchman has emerged as a concrete transfer target for Napoli as Gattuso wants to sign a new centre midfielder to switch to a 4-2-3-1 formation

According to Tuttosport, Chelsea are open to selling the 26-year-old on loan with option to buy.

The Rossoneri had also been linked with a move for the French midfielder but the deal with the Rossoneri has been put on hold.

As per Sportitalia, Herta Berlin and PSG have also been chasing Bakayoko who is however willing to return to Serie A and play under his former manager.

And, Football Italia report that the Partenopei can close the deal as soon as Arkadiusz Milik leaves the club. Tuttosport states the Poland striker is close to joining Fiorentina on a €5 million loan deal with an option to buy in the region of € 25 million.

The Polish ace would need to sign a one-year contract extension ahead of joining the Artemio Franchi side with that formula as his current deal at Napoli expires on June 2021.

Roman Abramovich decision on N’Golo Kante future REVEALED as Man United, Inter Milan circle

N’Golo Kante will not be allowed to leave Chelsea with interest reportedly growing in the 29-year-old.

The midfielder is apparently the source of interest from several clubs, including Manchester United.

However, David Ornstein of The Athletic has stated that the midfielder will not be going anywhere, with Roman Abramovich and Frank Lampard having no intention of selling the World Cup winner.

“I don’t think we should be getting too excited about the prospect of N’Golo Kante signing for Manchester United before the deadline,” Ornstein told Tifo.

“I don’t think he will be leaving Chelsea – full stop. We have got no evidence that he is available.
