Victor Moses secures loan move away from Chelsea

Reports in England claim that Chelsea are sending Victor Moses on loan to Spartak Moscow.

The Nigerian is free to leave the Blues after finishing his loan stint at Inter Milan.

Antonio Conte’s side opted against bringing him back to the San Siro despite making 20 appearances in the second half of last season.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Spartak have made their move as the Russian transfer window is still open.

It will be the 29-year-old’s sixth spell away from Chelsea after joining the club in January 2013.

Chelsea suffer potential blow as Edouard Mendy is injured

Chelsea have suffered a potential blow after goalkeeper Edouard Mendy injured his thigh while on international duty with Senegal.

Mendy joined Chelsea in a £22m deal during the transfer window but Frank Lampard now faces an anxious wait while they ascertain the severity of the problem.

He has, however, been forced to return to Stamford Bridge after suffering a thigh injury.

Mendy will assessed by Chelsea’s medical staff after completing a £22million to Frank Lampard’s club this summer.

The Senegalese Football Federation confirmed the news via an official statement on their website.

It said: “The Senegalese Football Federation announces the goalkeeper of the National Selection Edouard Mendy sustained an injury to the right thigh that occurred during the training session on Wednesday, October 07, 2020 and has undergone a medical examination at the hospital in Rabat.

“Edouard Mendy has also left the group this afternoon to return to his Club (Chelsea) where he will undergo further examinations.

“The Senegalese Football Federation wishes him a speedy recovery.

“He will be replaced by the young goalkeeper of the U20 national team, Boubacar Fall, who was regrouping in Toubab Dialao and who moved to Rabat in the early evening.”

Chelsea play Southampton at Stamford Bridge on October 17 after the international break before taking on Sevilla in their opening Champions League game and Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
