(Watch Video) PSG, Istanbul Basaksehir players walk away from pitch as Champions League match descends into chaos

The Champions League clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir descended into chaos on Tuesday night after both sets of players walked off amid allegations of racism by the fourth official, Sebastian Coltescu.

The match, according to the Daily Mail, was suspended midway through the first half after an incident on the touchline involving Pierre Webo, Basaksehir’s assistant manager.

Webo was sent off and then accused Coltescu of racism with footage from the incident appearing to show somebody say ‘n****’ when trying to identify the Cameroonian coach to the referee.

Webo was apoplectic on the touchline and had to be restrained by other members of the coaching staff.

According to reports the match is now due to restart at 10pm local time without the fourth official.

Former Chelsea and Newcastle striker Demba Ba was at the forefront of the Turkish side’s protests before they left the pitch.

Ba charged in the direction of Coltescu to question why he had used the phrase to identify Webo.

He said: ‘You never say “this white guy”, you say “this guy”, so why when you’re mentioning him… listen to me… why when you mention a black guy, why do you say “this black guy”.’

PSG players followed them down the tunnel with the game at Parc des Princes suspended at 0-0.

France boss Didier Deschamps CAUTIONS Frank Lampard on Olivier Giroud

Didier Deschamps has voiced his concerns over Olivier Giroud getting fatigued from too much game time.

The Chelsea striker has made himself undroppable after a long spell out the side – with inactivity threatening his place in the France team.

But the national team boss has made a fresh intervention, saying: “I’m happy for him and I’m hoping it can last.

“If Lampard decides to have him play three days a week, that’s not ideal either.

“The happy medium is good, that he takes advantage of this ideal period for him. He is one of the very best attackers at international level.”

Two Chelsea academy wonderkids set to feature against Krasnodar tonight

Two Chelsea youngsters Tino Anjorin and Henry Lawrence are expected to play some parts as the west London club take on Krasnodar tonight at Stamford Bridge for their final match of the Champions League group stage.

The Blues have already wrapped up top spot of Group E and the Russians are in the Europa League for the second half of the season.

So the match is very much a dead rubber and will give those fringe players a chance to impress once again.

Both Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi are out injured with hamstring injuries and they will miss the clash with Krasnodar at the very least.

It could create a chance for one or two of Chelsea’s highly rated youngsters, Faustino Anjorin or Henry Lawrence.

Both players have been training regularly with the Chelsea first team. Both names are easily amongst the top mentioned players of those who have a massive chance of making it at the club, and they are rated very highly by the coaches at Cobham and the senior coaches.

Anjorin has made a couple of first team appearances already, but Lawrence is also more than ready to have his chance to play in the first team.

Talkchelsea.net suggest that Werner could be forced to start the match now, or Lampard may chose to hand a start to Anjorin or Lawrence. Neither are out an out wingers as such, but both are versatile and have equally played out wide a number of times in their careers so far at youth level.

However, Anjorin and Lawrence were part of the training group ahead of the game as Frank Lampard put his players through their paces for the last time on Monday, and could get their chance to feature in the match.

N’Golo Kante provides updates on Hakim Ziyech, Thiago Silva, Timo Werner, others

Chelsea’s new stars have settled in incredibly well – N’Golo Kante has revealed.

The likes of Thiago Silva and Timo Werner have already made their mark after a busy summer window.

And Kante told the club website: “For sure we have a beautiful squad. Everyone is involved.

“As players we know what is required to be part of the starting 11 and on the bench, because many players have shown that even with less time they play very well. It’s for the manager to decide but as soon as we are on the pitch, we try to give the best for the club.

“We had some new players coming in this season and so far they are doing very well. They feel good and we feel good with them.

“Now they are part of the team we don’t see them as new players because everyone is in a good mood and has the desire to do well for the club.”

Official: Mario Balotelli joins Serie B club

Serie B AC Monza have officially announced the arrival of Mario Balotelli and confirmed the former Italy international has signed a deal until June 2021.

The former Liverpool and Manchester City striker has been a free agent since leaving Brescia after their relegation to Italian football’s second tier last term.

Balotelli, who won the Premier League title with City in 2012 after achieving three Serie A titles with Inter Milan, had his contract with his hometown side Brescia terminated because he repeatedly missed training sessions in June and July.

Rumours last week claimed he was close to signing with Brazilian outfit Vasco Da Gama. Barnsley also made an enquiry about the former Italy striker last month.

The Italian has now signed a deal with former Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi’s Serie B team.

Victor Osimhen receives return date from injury, to feature against Lazio

Reports in Italy claim that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen will not return until December 20 against Lazio, meaning he will be out against Inter.

The Nigerian striker picked up a shoulder injury while on international duty in October and has missed five games so far.

Today he worked in the gym and on the pitch, Napoli claimed in an official statement.

“He worked alone on the pitch and in the gym today,” the club have confirmed.

However, Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, via Football Italia, reports the centre-forward will not be called up for the Europa League match against Real Sociedad on Thursday.

The broadcaster reveals he will be out for the following two matches in Serie A against Sampdoria and Inter too, the latter scheduled for Wednesday, December 16.

But the report reveals he could be back against Lazio on December 20.

Paul Pogba’s super agent disagrees with Man United boss, says “Paul is unhappy at” Old Trafford, wants to leave in summer

Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola says Manchester United midfielder is unhappy and will be looking to leave the club in the summer before the end of his contract.

Raiola told Tuttosport, via SkySports: “There’s no point beating about the bush. It’s better to speak out clearly, look forward and avoid wasting time to find culprits.

“Paul is unhappy at Man Utd, he can’t manage to express himself like he wants to and like people expect him to. He needs to change team, he needs a change of scenery.

“He has a contract that will expire in a year and a half, in the summer of 2022, but the best solution for all parties is a transfer in the next window [in the summer of 2021].

“Otherwise the Old Trafford club, which I have a great relationship with, knows well that they would risk losing him on a free transfer, given that at the moment it’s not the player’s intention to extend the contract. If anybody can’t understand this, then they know little or nothing about football. Anyway, they’re free to direct all the blame to myself if Paul were to leave next summer.”

But when quizzed on Paul Pogba’s future at Old Trafford in October, Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was adamant the France midfielder was going nowhere.

“Paul’s our player, he’s going to be here for another two years and I’m sure Paul is focused on doing his best for us and we want to see the best of Paul,” said Solskjaer.

“So, in the next couple of years I’m sure we’ll get the best out of him.”

Pogba, 27, has scored twice and assisted two further goals in 13 matches in all competitions so far this season.

Former Chelsea target receives offers from Premier League

Former Chelsea target Hulk has officially left Shanghai SIPG four years after first joining – and could now move to the Premier League on a free transfer.

The Brazilian star, 34, is now available for nothing in January after rejecting a new deal in China earlier this year.

Hulk claimed: “I am listening to many proposals from Brazil and many places including in Europe.

“[I have offers from] Turkey, Portugal, England, Spain, Italy, Germany – and I also have an offer from China.

“Every day more new proposals arrive.”

Frank Lampard responds to claim he’s under pressure to sell out-of-favour Kepa

Frank Lampard insists he is under no pressure to sell out-of-favour Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The 26-year-old will make his first appearance since October in Tuesday’s dead-rubber Champions League clash with Krasnodar.

Kepa became a £71million world-record signing for a goalkeeper when joining Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao in 2018, but has slipped out of the team following Edouard Mendy’s £20million arrival from Rennes.

Lampard has previously admitted Kepa was struggling with his confidence and form, and Chelsea could reasonably seek to cut any losses on him, but Lampard insisted the club’s board have made no such moves.

Asked if he is under any pressure to move Kepa on, Lampard said: “No, there’s no pressure. The pressure, and I’m not saying this has been spoken about, is to win games.
“I have to do the right thing game by game of course. And Mendy has made himself a permanent fixture at this point. Because the pressure to win games means I pick people in form, goalkeeper, striker, winger, whoever.

“But at the same time with the game tomorrow it’s obviously an opportunity to give Edou a rest and Kepa a game; he’s been training well and he deserves it.”

Man United legend explains reasons he’s backing Chelsea for title, reveals two players to help Blues

Gary Neville has revealed why he is backing Chelsea for the title over fellow early pace-setters Spurs.

He told the Gary Neville Podcast: “Chelsea are impressing me, they have a real chance.

“I think Chelsea have more of a chance [than Tottenham for the title]. They have Kante, they have Thiago Silva, players that could navigate them to it.

“There’s a winning culture, [Roman] Abramovic wins trophies. They have good players and players that can do the ugly side of the game. They’re a real threat.”
