Aston Villa captain brands Arsenal youngster Saka “liar” over comment concerning his goal against Chelsea

Aston Villa star Jack Grealish jokingly branded Bukayo Saka as a ‘liar’ after the Arsenal ace claimed he meant his lobbed goal against Chelsea.

The 19-year-old put his side 3-0 up against the Blues at the Emirates on Boxing Day after his cross-shot looped over Blues shot-stopper Edouard Mendy.

There was much debate as to whether the teenager meant it, but Saka insisted that his strike was no fluke.

Taking to social media, he tweeted: “Saw him off his line!”

To which his England international team-mate Grealish quipped: “Ur (sic) to funny man! Liar.”

Arsenal dressing room divided as club stars put pressure on Arteta to recall Mesut Ozil in January

Senior Arsenal stars are reportedly hoping to see Mesut Ozil recalled to the team in January.

Mikel Arteta has not played the German since March having dropped him from the 25-man squads allowed to play in the Premier League and Europa League.

Amid his exile, Ozil has continued to train with the first-team.

But his treatment is said to be a driving force behind a dressing room divide, also caused by the handling of Sokratis Papastathopoulos’ removal from the squad.

According to the Telegraph, there is no dressing room consensus over seeing the 32-year-old given a fresh chance.

A group of senior players are described as keen to see Ozil return.

Next month, Arteta can update his league and European squad quotas.

Should Ozil fail to make the cut, it will finally spell the end of his career with the club.

The Blues manager Frank Lampard has made Borussia Dortmund striker his next target, according to reports.

The striker has been linked to both of the Premier League clubs following his impressive spell for Borussia Dortmund.

During a Q&A, Haaland was asked which player he’d want to have to played with that is now retired.

And he simply replied: “Frank Lampard.”

Chelsea reject January move for Blues starlet

Chelsea will reject loan offers for promising midfielder Tino Anjorin in January, according to The Athletic.

Several clubs from the Premier League and Championship are said to have made approaches for the England under-19 international, but have been told to look elsewhere.

Anjorin, 19, has made just one appearance for the first team this season, against Krasnodar in the Champions Legaue, but has impressed for the Blues’ under-23 side.

Despite Chelsea’s stance on Anjorin, boss Frank Lampard is hoping to trim his squad in the transfer window, with Antonio Rudiger, Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri and Danny Drinkwater all on the chopping block.

Ibrahimovic wants to become coach, select his Dream XI

Former Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic picks up his Dream XI and reveals he could become a coach one day.

“I choose eleven for their strenght or for affection. Those who gave me something,” he told Sportkeek as cited by Football Italia.

“[Gianluigi] Buffon is the goalkeeper, I played with him at Juventus. That was a special team. I have great memories. I was young and everyone treated me like I am treating young players at Milan now. They had so much to teach me.

“Maxwell is the left-back, he is a friend of mine. Then [Alessandro] Nesta and [Fabio] Cannavaro in central defence. Fabio was crazy, he used to take me around Naples with his scooter. I was young, I didn’t have experience. Him and [Lilian] Thuram had too much. I’d like to play with them now.

“Maicon is the right-back, when he arrived at Inter he wasn’t consider as strong as he proved to be.

“Then [Pavel] Nedved, the number one. He is the one who improved me more than enyone else. When I saw him I understood that what I was doing was not enough. He was always training, he was a machine.

“I pick up [Patrick] Vieri and Xavi in the middle of the park. Two champions.”

Ibra played with Vieira at Juventus and with the Spaniad at Barcelona.

“That Barcelona side was such a strong team. The first six months were amazing, but then I didn’t feel well because of the coach,” Ibra said.

“Attack is easy: [Zinedine] Zidane attacking midfielder, Ronaldo the phenomenon and Diego Maradona up front. He is the greatest of all time, better than me. I could be the coach of this team, who knows, maybe I can really become a coach one day.”
