Blues “loan legend” blasts Chelsea

Lucas Piazon has blasted Chelsea for loaning out him SEVEN times in nine years.

The Brazilian winger joined the Blues in 2011 from Sao Paulo for a fee reported to be worth around £10million.

But Piazon, 26, only ever made three senior appearances for Chelsea, all coming in 2012.

Piazon then took in loans at Malaga, Vitesse Arnhem, Eintracht Frankfurt, Reading, Fulham, Chievo and Rio Ave before being recalled by Chelsea this month.

But with just six months left on his deal, Piazon was only being brought back in order to sell him to Braga on a four-and-a-half-year deal.

Piazon told Oh My Goal: “When I turned 18, I was on the bench for the first time under Andre Villas-Boas and then the season finished.

“And then it wasn’t him anymore, it was Roberto Di Matteo. In the beginning I felt Chelsea really wanted me and really wanted me to do well and come back.

“But after the third or fourth loan, I knew it was just maybe business.

“[At different clubs] it’s always a big change and it takes time. You have to be patient but when you’re on loan there’s none. The pressure on you to perform is huge because you are from Chelsea.”

Fikayo Tomori expected in Italy today, to sign for AC Milan on Saturday as club legend reveals why they want Chelsea defender

AC Milan are hoping to complete the signing of Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea in the next 48 hours.

The Serie A club have been locked in talks with Chelsea this week over a loan move for the centre-back which includes an option to buy at around £25m.

Milan want to have Tomori at their disposal for their Serie A game against Atalanta on Saturday, and potentially ready to come straight into the starting line-up as all of their senior centre-backs are unavailable.

According to Sky in Italy, AC Milan hope the 23-year-old will be able to fly into Italy by Thursday night in order for him to undergo a medical on Friday.

The club’s technical director Paolo Maldini said on Monday: “We saw in him the quality to throw him into the mix with our current defenders, so that’s why we want him.”

RB Leipzig rebuff Roman Abramovich’s move for their club boss as Lampard replacement

RB Leipzig have made it clear they will not let their highly-rated young manager Julian Nagelsmann leave mid-season as the German side sit second in the Bundesliga, according to Sky Sports.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich may have to wait until the summer if he wants Nagelsmann to be his next permanent manager.

Leipzig entertain Liverpool next month in the Round of 16 in the Champions League and sit four points behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, believing they can land their first league title in the club’s brief 11-year history.

Chelsea and the Red Bull organisation enjoy excellent relations, having traded Timo Werner and Ethan Ampadu in recent years.

Despite that, it remains unlikely that Leipzig’s CEO Oliver Mintzlaff will sanction Nagelsmann’s departure, if Frank Lampard were to leave Stamford Bridge.

Leipzig, however, do have a ready-made replacement in RB Salzburg’s highly-rated boss, Jesse Marsch.

The American coach was assistant to Nagelsmann’s predecessor Ralf Rangnick at Leipzig – and is widely tipped to succeed Nagelsmann whenever he leaves.

Being part of the same RB group also means Leipzig will have no additional compensation costs to pay to another club for their manager.

Edouard Mendy opens up on why Chelsea are experiencing poor run of form

Chelsea stopper Edouard Mendy has opened up on what’s going wrong at Stamford Bridge.

Despite splashing £217.3million on new players, Chelsea have slipped to eighth in the Premier League with five defeats in their past eight games.

He told the club’s official website: “What we are missing at the moment is consistency, being good for the whole match. We often have a bad patch, concede a goal and it makes it too hard to recover. We need to find more consistency in matches to be able to get past this level of team.

“It’s difficult to explain because we were in good form and then we got into difficulty. It happened very quickly. We need to concentrate on the return phase now and getting near the levels we were at.

“It’s up to us to rectify the current situation and above all show more. We have to stay together and stay as positive as possible during this delicate moment.”

Roman Abramovich identifies Frank Lampard’s successor, rejects interim manager for Chelsea

Roman Abramovich has reportedly identified Julian Nagelsmann as the man he wants to take Chelsea forward, should Frank Lampard be sacked.

The Independent state that the Blues hierarchy are determined to make a permanent appointment rather than going with an interim boss if they dispense with club legend Lampard.

The report adds that Thomas Tuchel is second choice to RB Leipzig boss Nagelsmann but Max Allegri is not in the frame.

That would back up reports from The Athletic yesterday which stated that Chelsea are looking for a German-speaking manager to get the best out of new signings Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.

Solskjaer reacts as Manchester United beat Fulham after coming from behind

An equaliser by Edinson Cavani and Paul Pogba’s brilliant winner sent Manchester United back to the top of the table as they came from behind to beat Fulham 2-1.

Fulham went ahead on five minutes at Craven Cottage, when Ademola Lookman met Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa’s ball over the top and dispatched a crisp finish into the far corner.

United levelled after 21 minutes when Bruno Fernandes, who had struck a post moments earlier, whipped over a cross that Alphonse Areola fumbled into the path of Cavani, who stabbed home.

Fulham started the second half as positively as they had the first but Lookman shot tamely at David De Gea.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side edged ahead on 65 minutes when Pogba picked up the ball on the edge of the area and turned to hit an unstoppable curling drive beyond Areola’s reach.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek fired over Fulham’s best chance to claim a point nine minutes from time.

United return to the top on 40 points, two clear of Manchester City, who have a match in hand.

Solskjaer gave his thoughts to BT Sport and MUTV after last night’s triumph.

He said: “I think we started slow and after their goal I felt we did well. That was what we needed; we needed to wake up.

“I don’t think we had shaken off the game on Sunday, but after that we did really well, we scored.

“Poor again [after that], trying to be too direct and to go in behind and the Hollywood passes, then a fantastic goal by Paul and we had some great chances in the second half to finish the game.

“When it’s only one goal, with the players they’ve put on, it’s always going to be like heart in your mouth.”

David Alaba’s father throws chase for Bayern Munich star open as Liverpool, Chelsea, others back in the frame

Bayern Munich star David Alaba’s father has dismissed claims that the transfer of his son to Real Madrid is a done deal.

The 28-year-old is out of contract in the summer and Madrid have reportedly offered a lucrative four year deal but he is still deliberating over his final decision.

Chelsea and Manchester United are said to be among those vying after the Austrian international’s signature.

Liverpool remain in the frame to sign Bayern Munich utility player though Real Madrid are favourites.

But the defender’s father has however denied reports that his son’s move to the Bernabeu is done and dusted.

According to Bild, he said: “I cannot confirm the reports from Spain. Nothing is fixed or signed yet. There are many interested parties.”

Alaba has decided end his stay with the Bundesliga giants at the end of the season after 13 years in the German top-flight.

Alaba is doubtless one of the world’s leading centre-backs, having bagged his second Champions League last season after Bayern Munich’s dominant European run.
