Manchester United line up Serie A hitman after Erling Haaland blow

Reports claim Manchester United have identified £51m Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic as possible alternative to Erling Haaland.

La Viola frontman Vlahovic managed a staggering 21 goals in Serie A this season, even bagging a couple of assists in the process.

The striker has, according to The Express, found himself on the radar of several big European clubs, including Manchester United.

Erling Haaland is one name linked to United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seeks to strengthen his frontline. However, the €200million price tag slapped on him could drive a number of his suitors away.

And, as reported by the Daily Mail, Chelsea have opened talks for Haaland. The Champions League winners seem keen to sign the Norwegian and appear to be in a better position than most other clubs to make the move happen although it will still be very difficult to pull off.

And Vlahovic could be a wise alternative to the Borussia Dortmund forward. Fiorentina’s price tag of £51million for Vlahovic is much more reasonable and affordable for interested teams.

But the Red Devils have a plethora of competition for the Serbian striker as well. Reports in Italy as cited by The Express state Juventus and Inter Milan are interested in signing him, with the Old Lady even considering a possibility of a two-year loan deal.

The report goes on to add two more names to the list – Spanish giants Real Madrid and Premier League champions, Manchester City. The Cityzens will be without their star striker, Sergio Aguero, for next season.

Vlahovic’s contract runs until the summer of 2023. While Juventus have been cited as wanting a two-year loan deal, United are said to be interested in buying the player outright.

Kylain Mbappe promises to call Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylain Mbappe has promised to call Thomas Tuchel in order to congratulate him over Chelsea victory in the Champions League

Tuchel guided his side to a 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the Champions League final last month, securing his first trophy as Chelsea manager having taken over from Frank Lampard at the end of January.

Tuchel and Mbappe both came close to winning the competition last year at Paris Saint-Germain as they were beaten in the final by Bayern Munich.

Mbappe thrived under Tuchel’s guidance at PSG and the French forward believes his former manager can become one of the world’s best coaches’.

The 22-year-old also praised Tuchel’s tactical nous.

“After the Euros, I’m going to call him because I have a really good relationship with him,” Mbappe said in an interview with Sport Bild.

“He’s fantastic tactically. He knows exactly how opponents will behave and can predict matches very accurately.

“And it must also be taken into account – he is still a very young coach. He can become one of the best coaches of the future.

“He proved it with his victory in the Champions League.”

Official: Chelsea wonderkid signs for West Ham, promises to emulate former Blues academy product Declan Rice

West Ham have confirmed the signing of 19-year-old French midfielder Pierre Ekwah Elimby from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee.

Ekwah signed for the Hammers on an initial three-year deal, with the option to extend for a further year.

The youngster had previously spent two weeks on trial in Claret and Blue, featuring in the U23s’ final two Premier League 2 Division 1 matches of the 2020/21 season – both against Arsenal – and scoring in the latter one.

A powerful defensive midfielder, also capable of dropping into the back line, Ekwah is pleased to be continuing his development within West Ham and the Academy of Football.

Speaking about the move, Ekwah told West Ham TV: “I feel really good signing for West Ham. I’m really happy in myself. I want to thank the Club for the opportunity they have given me. It’s a big achievement for me.

“I really think that West Ham is a Club where everyone is working all together. The U23s and the first team work really closely to each other, and I think that young players here have got a good chance of breaking into the first team, as they have done in the past.

“Loads of young players have reached the first team: Declan Rice has been captain, and he’s so young and playing so well. Mark Noble is an unbelievable player who’s been there and done the same. I just want to do similarly to them.

“When West Ham gave me the opportunity to come in for two weeks, I took it, saw how the Club worked, and I just enjoyed it. They gave me the opportunity to sign and I said ‘yeah, I’m taking this shirt away!'”

Chelsea to offer Blues first-team star as part of Erling Haaland deal

Chelsea could offer up Tammy Abraham – as well as a sizable sum of cash – to sign Erling Haaland, according to the Daily Mail.

The Blues are hoping Abraham fits the mould as far as Haaland’s replacement goes, or at least that the England international helps fill the void.

The former Aston Villa forward is valued at £40 million and is reportedly wanted by Newcastle United.

However, it remains unlikely that Dortmund would prefer the Englishman, who does have a reputation for being inconsistent.

The report claims Chelsea are ‘waiting’ to hear what Dortmund make of Abraham.

Erling Haaland reacts to Chelsea’s interest

Erling Haaland has handed Chelsea a boost by reportedly showing an interest in a move to Stamford Bridge.

The Champions League winners have made the striker a key priority this summer and are ready to break the bank to land him.

In what could be a huge boost for the Blues, Haaland has now opened the door on the prospect of moving to Stamford Bridge.

According to a report by the Telegraph, the Norway international is believed to be ‘interested’ in making the switch to Chelsea and becoming the last piece in Thomas Tuchel’s jigsaw.

The west London club are locked in a transfer tussle for his signature alongside both Manchester clubs and Real Madrid.

Dortmund are willing to listen to offers in the region of £150million this summer.

That is because his bargain £68m release clause will come into effect by the end of next campaign.

Chelsea youngster pushing for loan move

Billy Gilmour is considering a loan move from Chelsea to give his career a kick-start.

The Scotland midfielder has played just two-and-a-half Premier League games since new head coach Thomas Tuchel took over in January.

It was feared the lack of match time would end up costing him a place with the Scots at Euro 2020 at one point.

The teenager has been hailed as one of the brightest talents to emerge from Chelsea’s academy in recent years.
