Jadon Sancho set to seal Manchester United, passes medical after Euro 2020 heartbreak

Reports in England claim Jadon Sancho has completed his medical ahead of the impending completion of his £73million move to Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund.

According to Sky Sports and Fabrizio Romano, the medical has been carried out. Sancho is now expected to go on holiday and rest up but he will only have three weeks off before joining up with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.

The 21-year-old arrived at the club’s Carrington training base on Tuesday as he looks to put the finishing touches on his highly anticipated return to the Premier League.

Sancho was one of three England players to have missed from the penalty spot in Sunday’s Euro 2020 final defeat by Italy at Wembley. Marcus Rashford, who is about to become his new United team-mate, failed to convert along with Bukayo Saka.

His arrival is significant for United boss Solskjaer – he was eager to recruit the England international last summer but the Red Devils failed to meet Dortmund’s asking price.

The German club came to an agreement with Sancho that if he stayed for another season, they would agree to sell him if a team met their asking price this summer which United have finally done with their £73m bid.

Pep Guardiola puts pressure on Manchester City owner to battle Chelsea for Erling Haaland

There are reports Pep Guardiola has requested his club to negotiate a transfer for Erling Haaland with Manchester City prepared to pay £130 million for the Norwegian.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur, Manchester City have prioritised the signing of Erling Haaland.

The Premier League champions are ready to challenge Chelsea while reportedly preparing a massive £130 million bid for the Norwegian striker.

Ekrem Konur suggests Pep Guardiola requested his club to begin negotiations with Borussia Dortmund and sign the striker as a priority. Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak is prepared to shatter records to make a tremendous bid for the Norwegian frontman.

If City makes an official bid, it might turn the race for Haaland into a bidding war, with Chelsea among the competitors. The Blues have the upper hand so far after starting talks with Dortmund weeks ago. The European Champions are prepared to pay as much as £150 million.

Konur also reported Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich taking part in those talks with Dortmund as he tried to convince the striker to move. The Blues are making space in the squad by moving out Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud while adding to their massive outlay from last summer.

According to thehardtackle.com, Haaland likes the idea of moving to Chelsea, but with Manchester City interested, he could sit down and evaluate his options.

“Apparently serious” Roman Abramovich releases funds for Erling Haaland

The Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has made it his personal mission to secure the signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland this summer.

German outlet Bild report that Abramovich is ‘apparently serious’ about the striker.

BVB bosses have repeatedly stated the Norway international will continue at the club next season and even though a summer transfer has been ruled out, Thomas Tuchel’s side are not letting him go.

‘Giving up is no alternative’ for the Russian billionaire and the report says he has released funds of around €175m to bring the 20-year-old to Stamford Bridge.

Reports emerged on Monday that Chelsea were stepping up their pursuit of Haaland, with Blues bosses believed to be preparing a massive bid for the 20-year-old.

The Independent, citing a report from former Norway striker Jan Age Fjortoft, says Chelsea are set to lodge a bid for Haaland which is big enough to bring Dortmund to the table.

The German club are reluctant to let him go, but would give serious thought to an offer in the region of £150m, which would be a Premier League transfer record if a deal were to be completed.

Bayern Munich search for replacement for Robert Lewandowski

Bayern Munich are searching for a replacement to wantaway striker Robert Lewandowski, according to reports.

The Polish goal machine is said to want to play for Real Madrid in the final years of his career and the German giants are looking for someone to fill his very large boots.

With his contract up in 2023, Bayern will not field any offers for the Pole at any price this summer, according to Sport Bild.

Yet a move in 12 months’ time is not inconceivable and Los Blancos are his preferred destination, according to AS.

Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku are on Bayern’s list of potential replacments but would command huge fees.

Sport1 allege that Bayern bosses are deliberately remaining quiet over the Haaland rumours to avoid upsetting their star striker.

Borussia Dortmund want over £150million for their forward, who could be available for less than half of that when a release clause is enacted next year.
