Liverpool eye Thomas Tuchel target

Liverpool could be set to make a move for Wolves winger Adama Traore.

According to the Star, Jurgen Klopp and the Reds are keen on bringing in the 25-year-old Spain international and believe a fee of £30million may be enough to secure his services.

Wolves had slapped a £60million asking price on Traore last season but after contributing just two goals and three assists in 37 Premier League appearances last season that price has dropped somewhat.

However Traore has been playing with a dislocated shoulder so a £30million bid is still likely to be rejected by Wolves.

Kurt Zouma touted to replace veteran defence ace at Tottenham

Spurs could look to replace Toby Alderweireld with Kurt Zouma, according to reports.

The Blues centre-back is rumoured to be involved in a player-plus-cash swap deal with Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, but should he not be included in the deal Spurs are ready to make their move.

That’s according to Calciomercato, with Spurs looking for defensive reinforcements following the departure of Toby Alderweireld to Qatari side Al-Duhail.

Cristian Romero of Atalanta had been linked with a move to North London, but with Zouma reportedly available for £25-30million, that fee is a much more attractive one compared to the £50million+ Atalanta are demanding for Romero.

Chelsea suffer Lewandowski blow as Blues pursuit of Erling Haaland stallS

Bayern Munich club president Herbert Hainer has insisted Chelsea target Robert Lewandowski will be staying at the club for “two more years.”

Hainer told Goal: “He still has two more years on his contract. He will definitely play those with Bayern Munch.

“I said it already a few weeks ago – I could imagine him staying with us for even longer. He will honour his contract.”

The Allianz Arena chief affirmed: “He will definitely play the next two seasons here in Bayern Munich.”

In another disappointing development for the Blues, the west London club’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund starman Erling Haaland has stalled.

According to the Daily Express, Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola has held positive talks with the club regarding his future.

Dortmund have already lost Jadon Sancho to Manchester United this summer for £73million and are desperate not to lose another one of their stars this summer.

Eden Hazard disappoints Real Madrid after reporting for for pre-season

Eden Hazard has returned to Real Madrid for pre-season and there is already more disappointing news.

The Belgian suffered a raft of injury issues last season, missing 33 games in all through setbacks with Hazard’s Real Madrid career continuing to falter following his €115million move from Chelsea in 2019.

While misfortune clearly plays a part, much has been made of Hazard’s part in his injuries with claims over his fitness and how he looks after his body.

Whether those claims are true is unclear, but a report from Marca will not help to defeat narrative.

According to the report, Hazard passed pre-season tests after returning yesterday but performed disappointingly.

It’s reported that Hazard had better fitness levels at Euro 2020 with Belgium despite heading off to the competition without being fully fit.

Even before he reported back to Valdebebas, returning Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti and returning fitness chief Antonio Pintus had, according to Football Espana, already devised a plan to get Hazard back to his best level, both in terms of performances and fitness.

Erling Haaland: Dortmund chief drops bombshell, confirms discussion with striker’s agent Mino Raiola

Sebastian Kehl has dismissed Chelsea’s move for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland, insisting the striker will still be at the club after the August 31 transfer deadline.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with the Norwegian, and are rumoured to be considering a £135million bid.

Haaland himself admitted yesterday that he hopes such talk is ‘just rumours’.

And former BVB captain Kehl, who is set to take over from Michael Zorc as chief executive next year, has squashed transfer talk surrounding the 21-year-old.

Asked about Haaland’s future as the team’s talisman, he told Bild: “Definitely. I still see Erling as extremely committed.

“He exudes an incredible amount of energy and is really up for the season at BVB.

“Erling won his first title with Borussia Dortmund a few weeks ago. I believe that this also inspires and spurs him on.

“He sees what is possible, and he often asks me when we’re going to play with fans again.

“Celebrating this triumph without them, that worried him. He would like to see this interaction between fans and players again in the coming season.

“For me he is an absolute winner. He wants to be a champion – and I firmly believe he can get even better.”

Quizzed whether he will still be at the club after August 31, Kehl, 41, simply said: “Yes.”

And asked to elaborate, he continued: “In the conversations with Mino Raiola about the (Donyell) Malen transfer, I did not have the feeling that we would have to meet again soon about Erling.

“And we have already emphasised 1000 times that we do not want to give him up.”

Dortmund played hardball with Manchester United over Jadon Sancho a year ago, with the England winger going on to help them achieve a top four finish and DFB Pokal win before eventually leaving this summer.

And Haaland himself has admitted that he is happy at the club.

He said: “First of all I have three years left on my contract. I’m enjoying my time here. But of course the trophy was important because that’s what I want.”

REVEALED: How Inter Milan rebuffed Chelsea’s massive offer for Romelu Lukaku

Reports in Italy claim Chelsea were ready to spend €130m on Romelu Lukaku, but Inter slammed the door shut.

The striker was instrumental in their first Serie A title since 2010 and is in the form of his life, scoring 30 goals along with 10 assists in 44 competitive games last season.

This caught the eye of Manchester City and Chelsea, but huge offers are rejected out of hand by his club.

Lukaku is a key figure in this team and after parting company with Antonio Conte, they have no intention of losing him as well.

He is under contract until June 2024 and they paid €74m to get him from Manchester United in 2019, but his value has only increased since then.

According to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, Chelsea are desperate to get a centre-forward this summer and have a budget of €130m set aside for this role.

He claims they were prepared to splash all of it on Lukaku, but as things stand, Inter have no intention of even listening to proposals for the Belgium international.

Another Chelsea target is Borussia Dortmund hitman Erling Haaland, while Manchester City have also been linked with Lukaku, but got the same response.

(Watch Highlights) Chelsea starlets save day for the Blues in pre-season friendly victory against Bournemouth (Match Report)

Chelsea youngsters Armando Broja, 19 and Ike Ugbo, 22, came to the rescue of the European champions on Tuesday evening at the Vitality Stadium.

The young strikers, who were both sent out on loan last year, scored second-half goals to give Tuchel’s side a 2-1 win at Dean Court.

Bournemouth took the lead just after the hour mark when new signing Emiliano Marcondes gave the home fans something to cheer in the 66th minute to spark the game into life.

Substitutes Broja and Ugbo showed Abraham the way to score in the six-yard box with two goals inside four minutes.

The Blues equalised in the 72nd minute when Broja controlled a cross from substitute Baba Rahman before finding the back of the net.

And Chelsea were in the lead four minutes later, Ugbo heading in at the near post.

Tammy Abraham missed three gilt-edged chances, two shots and one header from close range, in the first half as the visitors dominated.

Fabinho reveals Jurgen Klopp’s favourite Liverpool player

Fabinho has spilled some insider knowledge of the Liverpool dressing room, revealing Virgil van Dijk is Jurgen Klopp’s favourite as he took some cheeky digs at team-mate Joel Matip.

The 27-year-old staged an Instagram Q&A from his sun lounger beside the pool, even entertaining fans with his impression of a Scouse accent.

Asked ‘who’s the gaffer’s favourite?’ Fabinho simply replied ‘VVD’, Anfield’s big Dutch centre-back.

Van Dijk is still making the final steps of his rehabilitation after suffering an ACL injury in October, and Klopp will be desperate to have his defensive rock back.

The impact of the star’s injury last season certainly justifies the German’s favouritism.
According to the Daily Mail, the Brazilian was also asked for his favourite tackle of his career, attaching a shot of his wild lunge on Luis Suarez in the 2018-19 Champions League semi-final with the words ‘just ball ref.’

The challenge earned him a booking, but wiping-out the former Liverpool striker on the way to a 4-0 win on that memorable Anfield night will only be a sweet memory.

Arsenal close in on Tammy Abraham, set to sell star to fund move

Reports claim Arsenal will agree to Tammy Abraham’s personal terms and are ready to sell an experienced striker to fund a move for the Chelsea man.

Alexandre Lacazette, who has recently entered the final 12 months of his contract at the Emirates Stadium, has been placed on the transfer list by Arsenal, according to a report from the Mirror.

Arsenal have slapped a £15million price tag on Lacazette, with a view to replacing the Frenchman with Abraham.

The Chelsea striker has attracted interest from West Ham, Aston Villa and Arsenal. Chelsea have placed a £40 million valuation on the English forward this summer.

The 23-year-old appears surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge after slipping down the pecking order.

He looked set for a stellar Blues career after his breakthrough season of 2019-2020. The Londoner bagged 18 goals from 47 appearances in all competitions.

He is yet to sign a new deal at Chelsea with his current contract set to expire in 2023. Abraham currently earns around £80,000-a-week in west London but wants to increase his weekly wage by £45,000 to £135,000-a-week.

And the Emirates outfit are willing to pay that amount, according to The Express. There is still confusion about his price tag.

Marcos Alonso puts pressure on Chelsea for Serie A move

Latest reports in Italy claim Marcos Alonso is reportedly pushing Chelsea to let leave for a new Serie A experience with Inter.

The 30-year-old Spain international is no stranger to Italian football, having played for Fiorentina from 2013 to 2016.

He is struggling for regular playing time at Stamford Bridge, especially if Emerson Palmieri remains amid on-going Napoli talks.

Alonso had already been linked with Inter as part of Chelsea’s bid for Achraf Hakimi, but that never materialised, as the full-back went to Paris Saint-Germain instead.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea are asking for €15-20m for Alonso, whereas Inter would prefer a loan with option to buy.

It’s reported in Italy that Alonso is pushing Chelsea to let him leave, but his contract runs to June 2023.

The English club paid €23m to sign Alonso from Fiorentina in 2016.

Roma had also shown an interest, before agreeing terms with Palmeiras for Matias Viña instead.
