Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte in talks for another job

Antonio Conte is reportedly in talks with Sky Sports in Italy to take on punditry duties while he awaits his next managerial move.

The 51-year-old dramatically left his role as Inter boss this summer despite guiding them to the Serie A title, with the Italian unhappy with the club’s transfer plans this window.

Conte has been linked with a number of vacancies following his San Siro departure, with Real Madrid interested in the former Chelsea boss, while he held talks with Tottenham Hotspur.

As part of Conte’s Inter exit, he agreed not to take on an Italian club until the end of the year, so with very few managerial options at present, the 51-year-old is biding his time before making his next move.

And Corriere della Sera, via the Daily Mail, reports that Conte is in talks with Sky Sport Italy over taking on punditry duties for the 2021-22 campaign.

Sky are understood to have offered Conte a gig as a special guest pundit, with the Italian taking to the television studio for high-calibre games, including the Champions League, Premier League and big FA Cup ties.

The Italian outlet expects Conte’s next job to be in England, where he enjoyed huge success at Chelsea from 2016 to 2018.

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has revealed that he felt the vacation was “too short” and had asked for a few more days, but “didn’t get it.”

The Italy international returned to Chelsea training today after winning UEFA EURO 2020, stating that he had ‘a very good summer!’

The midfielder was back with his club teammates following the Azzurri triumph, which saw them beat England in the Final at Wembley on penalties.

Naturally, he couldn’t keep the grin off his face when asked if he’d had a good summer.

“Very good summer!”

Now he “can’t wait” for the new season, especially after winning the Champions League with Chelsea last term, putting him in the running for the Ballon d’Or.

Barcelona, Liverpool, Arsenal told Renato Sanches price

Clubs will have to pay £30million to sign Renato Sanches from Lille this summer, according to L’Equipe.

Barcelona, Liverpool and Arsenal are all said to be interested in the 23-year-old who has turned his career around in France.

After disappointing at Bayern Munich and during his shock loan to Swansea Sanches has enjoyed some success with Lille, even winning a league title last season.

With Arsenal on the look for a creative midfielder as a long-term replacement for Mesut Ozil, could a move for the Portugese international be on the cards?

Sevilla set to sign replacement for Chelsea target Jules Kounde

Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez is reportedly in talks over a transfer to Sevilla to replace Chelsea target Jules Kounde.

Sanchez, 25, joined Spurs in 2017 for what was at the time a club record fee of £42million.

But he could now be on his way out of North London as Sevilla prepare for life without Frenchman Kounde.

Chelsea are closing in on a deal for the 22-year-old centre-back having already had a bid of £30million plus Kurt Zouma rejected.

And according to The Mail, if Kounde’s transfer is confirmed, talks could intensify as the LaLiga side search for someone to fill his boots.

Confusion as Harry Kane fails to report for Tottenham training this morning

England captain Harry Kane has NOT reported for Tottenham training this morning fueling fears at White Hart Lane over reported plan to force his move away from the club.

Sky Sports are reporting that the 28-year-old has not arrived at Spurs’ training ground after being due to report back today following an extended holiday after England’s Euro 2020 campaign.

Kane publicly told Spurs in May he wanted to leave the club with Manchester City keen on signing the England captain.

And with Kane failing to show up for training this morning this transfer saga could get messy.

Manager Pep Guardiola is keen on the England captain but Spurs chief Daniel Levy is refusing to let him go for less than £160m.

Revealed: How Bukayo Saka helped Mikel Arteta secure England international Ben White

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka helped Mikel Arteta decide to sign Ben White this summer.

The Spaniard made White his top defensive target after Sevilla ace Jules Kounde made it clear he wasn’t interested in joining the Gunners.

Before sanctioning a move, however, Arteta sought out Saka’s opinion on White after training with him on England duty at Euro 2020.

And according to The Athletic, the winger’s feedback was ‘overwhelmingly positive’ – so the Gunners decided to press ahead with a deal.

Southampton raid Chelsea again as AC Milan battle Brighton, others for Blues starlet

Southampton are reportedly set to win the race to sign Chelsea starlet Tino Livramento as AC Milan, Brighton, others circle for the youngster.

Highly-rated defender Livramento, 18, is poised to become the second youngster to swap Chelsea for Southampton this summer, following centre-back Dynel Simeu, after the south coast club agreed a deal with the European champions and terms with the player.

According to the Daily Mail, Southampton will pay a fee believed to be around £5m for Livramento who will pen a five-year deal.

England under-19 prospect Livramento was attracting plenty of interest as he entered the final year of his Chelsea contract and with talks failing to result in a new agreement.

He was wanted by Manchester City, Arsenal and Brighton, among others, in the Premier League but also the likes of AC Milan, RB Leipzig and Monaco abroad.

However, Southampton, who have been monitoring and working on a deal for Livramento in the background for some time, have swooped in and pulled off a coup by persuading Livramento to move to St Mary’s.

Talks over the deal led by Southampton chief executive Martin Semmens have accelerated over the weekend and Livramento’s switch is now on the verge of being finalised.

Ralph Hasenhuttl is delighted with the imminent capture of Livramento who will fill a position in his squad the Southampton boss was keen to sort out this summer.

Hasenhuttl was in the market for a versatile back up full-back and has managed to land one of the most promising youngsters in the country to solve his search.

Livramento can play as a full-back or wing back on both sides of the pitch.

Fear grips Chelsea fans over Edouard Mendy after Blues win over Arsenal

The Blues fans were apprehensive following Kepa Arrizabalaga’s performance in his second half cameo during Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Arsenal.

The fans realised the Spaniard will become Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 26-year-old continued his pre-season preparations coming on for Edouard Mendy with half hour to play, but conceded inside ten minutes of coming on.

Granit Xhaka levelled proceedings for the Gunners by nodding the ball in into the back of the net leaving the Spanish goalkeeper rooted to the spot, which ignited serious concern among Chelsea fans.

Blues fans took to Twitter as they expressed their scepticism following the realisation that the west London side will be without star man Mendy come January.

The Africa Cup of Nations’ latest instalment kicks off January 9 before its eventual conclusion on February 6, meaning the Blues will be without their Senegalese goalkeeper, and instead have to field either Kepa or newly signed Marcus Bettinelli.

@CFCbender said: “One thing for certain is Kepa is not good enough to be our 2nd choice GK. With Mendy going away to AFCON in January we need to sign a good backup.”

@Studioyosepra was in full support of the Blues number one, but suggested that Kepa doesn’t provide them with much confidence: “I don’t know man… Yes, it was 90% of the defence fault.

“But I really don’t like someone who doesn’t even try. In Kepa’s case, standing still….. yet again.”

Another fan, @ayowa9, unconvinced by Kepa’s eventual first-choice role said: “Kepa couldn’t even move, I swear the goal is not painful but the way he stood like a statue is a nightmare.”

(Watch Goal & Highlights) Olivier Giroud scores on debut with first touch to save AC Milan blushes in preseason friendly

Olivier Giroud made a magnificent Milan debut, scoring with his first touch to give them a 1-1 friendly draw away to OGC Nice after a very soft penalty.

Ndoye went down rather easily under slight contact from Rade Krunic, winning a penalty for the hosts, converted by Gouiri, squirming under the arm of a very hesitant Ciprian Tatarusanu.

Giroud received his Milan debut and took precisely four minutes to get his name on the scoresheet, essentially with his first touch of the ball, nodding in the Samu Castillejo free kick.

The former Chelsea striker was feeling right at home on French soil and in the Rossoneri jersey, although in this case it was white, because hosts Nice also wear red and black stripes.

It was the ideal start to this new chapter of the France international’s career, after Milan finally prised him away from Chelsea for €1m plus up to another €1m in bonuses.
