Alvaro Morata’s wife locks striker out of his house

August 10th, 2021 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

Reports in Italy claim star Alvaro Morata was forced to sleep at a HOTEL after his wife accidentally locked him out of the house.

The Spanish striker was travelling home after the Serie A side suffered a 3-0 pre-season defeat to cash-strapped Barcelona.

The 28-year-old revealed the unfortunate tale on Instagram after losing the Joan Gamper Trophy at the Johan Cruyff Stadium in Spain.

Morata flew back to Turin with his deflated team-mates following the defeat and arrived at his home at 4am.

And just as the ex-Chelsea ace thought his day couldn’t get any worse, he found the doors locked at home as a security measure.

Morata’s wife Alice Campello had forgotten to unlock the security system and was fast asleep by the time the player returned.

The Spain international was left with no choice but to book a room at a nearby hotel and try to forget the funny incident.

Morata married Alice in June 2017 and the happy couple have three kids, throwing a cool Spider-Man birthday party for their twins in July.

The forward proposed to the Italian model and fashion designer just eight months after she IGNORED his messages on Instagram.

Antonio Rudiger rejects Chelsea “legend” title

August 10th, 2021 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has rejected claims he is a club legend after helping the club to Champions League glory last season.

When asked if he can be called a ‘legend’ following the European triumph, he told The 5th Stand: “It was good, but ‘legend’, I wouldn’t say that.

“We did it as a team, as a group, and a “legend” is for other people to decide. But for me it is just that we won the Champions League together as a group and it was good.

“It was not only that challenge by me, it was Azpi’s challenge, it was also Reece’s challenge, Christensen’s challenge and Kai’s goal, Mason’s assist. It was a good team effort.”

Rio Ferdinand fires Romelu Lukaku warning to Man United fans, reveals his discussion with striker as he returns to Chelsea

August 10th, 2021 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

Romelu Lukaku will use those who doubted him at Manchester United as fuel to take the Premier League by storm at Chelsea, according to Rio Ferdinand.

Lukaku is poised to re-join the Blues from Inter Milan after the west London club agreed to pay £97.5million for his signature.

United signed him from Everton for £75m in July 2017, but despite scoring 42 goals in 96 appearances across two seasons for the club, the move never really worked out, with a £74m transfer to Inter forthcoming in 2019.

And Ferdinand has claimed that the Belgian international will be a huge success during his second stint at the west London club as his knack for consistently netting goals makes him a sure thing for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

“I’ve spoken to him recently and he’s hungry man. He hasn’t confirmed to me that he’s signing for Chelsea but he just said this season, he’s hungry”, Ferdinand told his FIVE YouTube channel.

“I just think this guy, a lot of greatness comes through having fuel and what I mean by that is having doubters and wanting to prove them wrong.

“He’s got a whole stadium full at Manchester United who doubted him, all the fanbase at Old Trafford doubted him. A lot of people weren’t too dissatisfied when he left.

“He will be sitting there and looking in the diary to see when that Old Trafford game is and he will want to unload.

“Romelu Lukaku guarantees you 20 goals, minimum. He guarantees you that. He’s scored goals wherever he’s been, he’s an elite goalscorer, it’s as simple as that.”

Lionel Messi finally reaches “total agreement” with PSG, will fly to Paris to sign “£500,000-a-week” Tuesday afternoon

August 10th, 2021 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

Reports in France claim Lionel Messi has reached a “total agreement” to join Paris Saint-Germain and he will fly into the French capital on Tuesday afternoon.

Daily newspaper L’Equipe have detailed that Messi has ironed out his contract with the French giants and will put pen to paper on a two-year contract – with the option of a further year.

Their report adds that Messi will arrive in Paris ahead of medical checks and a welcome press conference is slated to take place at the club’s Parc des Princes stadium as early as Wednesday.

Sources close to negotiations have re-affirmed that Barcelona could not afford to keep Messi even if he stayed for free as, even without him, they are above the wage cap for LaLiga this season.

For that reason they did not attempt to persuade Messi to drop his salary.

Thomas Tuchel reveals secrets behind his early success at Chelsea, explains why he adopted 3-4-3 formation

August 10th, 2021 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has explained the reason for recording success at the west London club despite coming halfway through the season, culminating in wining the Champions League.

The German has been speaking ahead of the UEFA Super Cup clash on Wednesday against Europa League winners Villarreal which is taking place on Wednesday in Belfast.

“How did I start so well? Maybe I don’t know,” Tuchel explained ahead of the Super Cup against Villarreal on Wednesday.

“Before, I would have said it’s never an ideal scenario because you come in [halfway through the season], but maybe it was a good thing.

“Finally, I found a well-structured club, a top organisation, a very open and ambitious team, and a lot of support at the highest level, and that made things very easy for us.

“[Playing with a back three] was a good fit with all of our players, and our midfield players.

“We decided very early that we wanted to always have two of our three midfield players on the pitch – that means N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic.

“That’s the approach: to do what’s good for the team and to do what suits the players’ characteristics, and we had the feeling throughout the whole journey that this was a good fit.”

Official: Southampton beat Udinese to Chelsea wonderkid

August 10th, 2021 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

Southampton have beaten Udinese to the signature of Chelsea wonderkid Armando Broja.

The Blues up-and-coming striker, 19, is set to spend the 2021-22 season at St Mary’s, according to Italian football expert Fabrizio Romano.

It is claimed the Slough-born forward completed his medical with Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side today, after agreeing to a contract extension with the 2021 Champions League winners in July.

And the starlet’s new five-year deal will see him remain a Chelsea player until June 2026.

Broja, who spent last term on loan with Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem, is thought to have wowed Stamford Bridge and Saints officials with his performances in the Eredivisie.

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl said: “Armando is a very talented player who we were impressed by last season.

“He is young, but he comes now with a full season of experience in senior football with a good team, and he brings a lot of qualities that can help us.

“He is a strong, quick player with a good instinct and this makes him a good fit for the way we like to play.

“I know how highly regarded he is by Chelsea, and I think this will be a good place for him to continue his own development as well.”

Broja said: “I feel very happy. I was really excited to join Southampton. It’s obviously a very good Premier League club.

“They’ve got a good history and they play in the best league in the world, so it’s amazing for a young player to experience it, be in and around a Premier League team, and learn and develop from the older players, the staff and everyone here. It’s a very good opportunity.”
