Newcastle plot swoop for two Chelsea stars

Newcastle United are keen on a potential move for Chelsea’s Malang Sarr and Ethan Ampadu, according to The Daily Express.

Premier League clubs cannot register more than two players on loan at one time while borrowing two players from the same club is completely off-limits.

It means Bruce would have to pick between the pair should he decide to make a formal approach to Chelsea.

The former has been featuring sporadically in pre-season with the Blues open to offers for both as they look to trim their congested squad for the 2021/22 season.

Gareth Bale ‘loving life’ at Real Madrid again under Carlo Ancelotti

Reports in Spain claim Gareth Bale is ‘loving life’ at Real Madrid again as he has re-found his smile at Real Madrid under Carlo Ancelotti.

The Wales star is back in favour at the club and looks set to play a major role in their challenge for silverware this season.

Bale spent last season on loan at Tottenham after being frozen out by Ancelotti’s predecessor, Zinedine Zidane, but has returned to the club in optimistic spirits.

Marca’s front page shows a smiling Bale and highlights the dramatic turnaround for the attacker.

Bale’s career at Real Madrid appeared to be over under Zinedine Zidane as he was completely out of favour.

But the departure of Zidane and Carlo Ancelotti’s return to Real Madrid has provided a new lease of life for 32-year-old Bale at the club.

Bale started Real Madrid’s opening 4-1 win at Alaves on Saturday and appears to have the confidence and backing of Ancelotti.

Sergio Aguero rejects Lionel Messi’s jersey despite Gerard Pique persuasion

New FC Barcelona signing Sergio Aguero has decided against taking friend Lionel Messi’s famed Number 10 jersey

Since Lionel Messi’s departure for Paris Saint-Germain nobody at the Catalan club seems to want it.

According to Marca, the number ten shirt at Barcelona is more than a number as the story and the shadow behind it is intimidating

Ibai Llanos joked about it with Gerard Pique during a Twitch session on Sunday evening.

“Nobody’s wearing the ten, right?” he asked.

“There’s nobody with balls”. Pique replied: “Well, I think someone will take it. I told Kun [Sergio Aguero] to take it it, but he doesn’t like the idea.”

Llanos summed up the situation succinctly. “That shirt carries 30 kilos of extra weight,” he said.

Aguero announced on Wednesday afternoon that he’ll wear the number 19 at Barcelona this season, confirming that he decided against wearing the ten.

His future has been much-discussed since Messi left, with the Argentine seemingly joining Barcelona to play alongside his old friend. Latest reports indicate he’s going to push for a move to MLS this winter; he’s out of action at the time of writing due to an injury. He’s expected back in November.

Kenedy joins Batshuayi, Emerson in signing new Chelsea contract

Kenedy has joined Michy Batshuayi and Emerson Palmieri in signing a new Chelsea contract – even though the first two are being loaned out for a FIFTH time.

The Blues are keeping up the fringe trio’s transfer value by extending their deals.

But Brazilian winger Kenedy, 25, is off for a season with home country champions Flamengo.

And Belgium striker Batshuayi, 27, who had two temporary spells with Crystal Palace, will spend the campaign with Turkish giants Besitkas.

The Belgian striker was due to become a free agent next year, but he is now tied down at Stamford Bridge until 2023.

It’s thought Chelsea are looking to offload Emerson.

The west London club extended Emerson Palmieri’s contract despite desperately trying to offload the defender.

The Italian left-back, 27, is currently third choice behind Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are still hoping to recoup the £17million they spent to sign him from Roma in 2018.

Marseille enter race to sign Chelsea striker

Ligue 1 giants Marseille have entered the race to sign Chelsea striker Ike Ugbo, according to reports.

The academy graduate – who has just one year remaining on his contract with the Blues – has long been expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after an impressive 2020/21 campaign in Belgium with Club Brugge.

Belgian side Genk were thought to be in the driving seat for the 22-year-old.

A deal to return to the Belgian top-flight has been in the pipeline for several weeks with Genk having agreed a fee of around £4.2million with Chelsea.

But according to Football Mercato, Ugbo has been offered to Marseille after scoring 16 goals on loan at Cercle Brugge last season.

Tammy Abraham reveals how two Chelsea stars convinced to join AS Roma

Tammy Abraham has revealed how Chelsea players Antonio Rudiger and Emerson Palmieri influenced his move to AS Roma.

The striker ended a 17-year association with Chelsea by joining the Serie A club on a permanent basis on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old stated that Rudiger was instrumental in convincing him to join the Italian giants.

“They ( Antonio Rudiger and Emerson Palmieri) loved everything, especially Toni Rudiger, he told me he would always play for Roma again,” Abraham told Roma’s website when asked what Emerson and Rudiger told him about the club.

“Hearing it gave me confidence. As I said, I felt good from day one, I just have to do my best this season and help the team as much as possible.”

And Abraham also revealed that former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, who is now the manager of Roma, also played a big part in him moving to the Stadio Olimpico.

“Luckily I trained a couple of times with him, I’ve never played with him in the first team. I know what he’s about, I know he’s a big character around the building”, Abraham said.

“He has won major trophies and had the experience of working with the best players in the world, so for me to work under him is something that makes me very happy, I can’t wait to get started”.
