REVEALED: How Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool star almost exchanged blows in dressing room after club’s match

Jurgen Klopp and James Milner almost fought in the dressing room after Liverpool drew 2-2 at Sunderland four years ago.

Ex-Reds’ defender Ragnar Klavan revealed the flare-up and claimed manager Klopp “would have gone all the way to prove his point” had vice-skipper Milner not backed off.

At the Stadium of Light in January 2017 Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe twice levelled with penalties after Daniel Sturridge and Sadio Mane netted, with Milner having been hauled off at half-time.

Klavan, now with home-country side Paide Linnameeskond, told Estonia’s Betsafe Eesti Podcast: “The biggest pressure was around Christmas and at the beginning of January.

“One time, I don’t remember who we played against. Maybe it was against Sunderland away.

“Klopp and James Milner almost started a physical fight…. but eventually Milner stepped back.”

Trevor Chalobah identifies most hardworking Chelsea star during training sessions

Trevoh Chalobah has claimed that Chelsea teammate Kepa Arrizabalaga gives “everything” in training sessions.

Chalobah, 22, is a new face in the Blues squad this season after the club opted not to send him out on another loan.

The English centre-back did enough to impress first-team boss Thomas Tuchel during pre-season, which is why he’s now been integrated into the senior squad.

He’s explained that Blues goalkeeper Kepa has caught the eye as someone who’s 100 per cent in training sessions.

Spanish goalkeeper Kepa, 26, is the second choice behind Edouard Mendy at Stamford Bridge this season.

However, he’s kept two clean sheet in the three appearances he’s already made this season.

Real Madrid suffer transfer blow as Manchester City’s owner Sheikh Mansour issues “mandate” to sign Kylain Mbappe “at any cost”

Reports in England claim Manchester City could beat Real Madrid to the signing of Kylian Mbappe by pouncing for the France hotshot before his Paris Saint-Germain contract expires at the end of the season.

Sheikh Mansour, the owner of the reigning Premier League champions, has issued a ‘mandate’ to make prolific Mbappe the club’s newest striker ‘at any cost’, according to transfer gurus.

Mega-wealthy Mansour has ordered a move for PSG top scorer Mbappe that could be completed as early as the January transfer window, the Transfer Window has reported.

Real Madrid are desperate to sign the World Cup winner, failing with two bids before the summer transfer window closed on August 31.

The Liga giants confirmed to the Daily Mail in August that they had a second offer of €170m (£145m) plus €10m (£9m) emphatically rejected by PSG, who stand to lose the man they signed on a permanent basis for £166m in 2018 for nothing next summer.

Los Blancos had tabled an initial bid of £137m for the 22-year-old less than a week earlier.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s mum reacts to reports of rift between son and his girlfirend Georgina Rodriguez

Cristiano Ronaldo’s mum has praised ‘supportive’ Georgina Rodriguez and rubbished rumours of a rift between the two.

Dolores Aveiro also revealed she lost her sense of smell and taste after a stroke last year – but insists her love of football remains unaffected.

Discussing her relationship with Georgina on Sporting Lisbon’s ADN de Leao podcast, Dolores, 66, said: “Yes, yes, she’s a good girl.

“Cristiano is an exemplary father but he has people to help.

“The children have nannies and they have staff who do a lot of things. Four kids are a lot of work.

“Georgina is a great support to Cristiano, no doubt about it.”

Bayern Munich boss breaks silence on club’s move for Antonio Rudiger as Chelsea defender clears air over reported transfer talks

Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann has broken his silence on reports that the German giants are looking to sign Antonio Rudiger.

The Chelsea defender is out of contract in the summer and the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are reported to be circling in hope of sealing a free transfer.

Rudiger entered talks over his deal following his return from EURO 2020 and Chelsea are keen to extend the deal but, according to football.london, the defender’s demands of £140,000 a week have put the brakes on any potential breakthrough in negotiations.

But the 28-year-old has revealed he hasn’t spoken to any club other than Chelsea thus far about his future. The Germany international had looked destined to leave before Thomas Tuchel arrived at the club as he struggled to earn a place in Frank Lampard’s starting XI.

Nagelsmann was asked about Rudiger in a press conference and was quick to praise the impact of Tuchel.

He said: “I’m generally not a big fan of talking about players who are under contract elsewhere, and besides, we’re outside the transfer period.

“I’m talking about him now as a football fan because he is a German senior international. He has made a super development. Thomas [Tuchel] has handled him extremely well – he was still on the sidelines at Chelsea a year ago and is now certainly one of their most decisive players.

“He has incredibly good aggression and is a very good defender. I haven’t spoken to Brazzo (Hasan Salihamidzic) about it and if I did, I wouldn’t tell you either!

“I just read that in the media as well. I’ll have to see when the contract expires and then I’ll see if I still have money in my wallet!”
