Sao Paulo have reportedly accepted Arsenal’s €3.5m offer for Brazilian winger Marquinhos.
According to UOL Esporte, Arsenal’s bid can be ‘considered a gesture of goodwill’, aiming at a good relationship for future business from Edu Gaspar, as the player could have left for free in July.
Sao Paulo have been trying to renew Marquinhos’ contract since the end of 2021 and even offered 13 times the amount of wages of his last contract.
He did not even respond to them.
Arsenal’s technical director Edu used his links to his homeland once again just as he did to sign a then unknown Gabriel Martinelli.
The interest in Marquinhos draws parallels to Martinelli as he is also a winger that can play off the striker.
