Arsenal win race for Brazil wing sensation

Sao Paulo have reportedly accepted Arsenal’s €3.5m offer for Brazilian winger Marquinhos.

According to UOL Esporte, Arsenal’s bid can be ‘considered a gesture of goodwill’, aiming at a good relationship for future business from Edu Gaspar, as the player could have left for free in July.

Sao Paulo have been trying to renew Marquinhos’ contract since the end of 2021 and even offered 13 times the amount of wages of his last contract.

He did not even respond to them.

Arsenal’s technical director Edu used his links to his homeland once again just as he did to sign a then unknown Gabriel Martinelli.

The interest in Marquinhos draws parallels to Martinelli as he is also a winger that can play off the striker.

Juventus star Paulo Dybala’s agent spotted in London for transfer talks

Paulo Dybala’s agent Jorge Antun has travelled to London to take stock of the serious interest coming from the Premier League.

The 28-year-old Argentinian forward will leave Juventus on a free transfer at the end of next month and a number of top clubs are keen on picking him up, with Inter representing one of the forerunners. The Nerazzurri have been in talks with Antun for a while now and things have looked positive, but no deal has been secured.

As reported by Calciomercato.com via Football Italia, Antun is currently in London in order to examine some draft offers from interested Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea. He is also set to meet with Frank Trimboli, who is an intermediary representing other interested English clubs.

The Argentinian forward is one of the most exciting free agents available this summer and so it’s hardly a surprise that Inter are facing tough competition for his signature. Reports also suggest that some clubs in Spain are keen to pick him up, which could further complicate things.

The 28-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of this season.
