Newcastle join race to sign former Chelsea star

Newcastle have reportedly joined the race to prise Alvaro Morata away from Atletico Madrid.

The Spanish striker is on his way back to the Wanda Metropolitano after spending the last two seasons on loan at Juventus.

Chelsea flop Morata is facing an uncertain future under Diego Simeone, with Arsenal claimed to be eyeing up a shock transfer.

Serie A giants Juventus remain keen on turning his temporary stay in Turin into a permanent switch.

It is believed that the Old Lady aren’t willing to match Atletico’s £30million asking price having already forked out £17m on his loan.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Newcastle are keeping tabs on Morata ahead of a possible swoop.

Paul Pogba hands potential new club conditions before signing

Departing Manchester United star Paul Pogba has revealed three conditions his suitors need to meet in order to sign him – “play football, be myself and enjoy what I do”.

United recently confirmed that record signing Pogba, 29, will leave once his contract runs out on June 30 following six years at Old Trafford.

And Pogba told Uninterrupted: “I just want the best for me, I’m thinking like putting everything together. Take my time and I’m just looking for the best.

“I just want to play football, be myself always and enjoy what I do.

“I need to enjoy what I do because otherwise I cannot perform well. I don’t want to be thinking negative.

“We can be losing games, losing trophies but you have to be happy where you are and enjoy yourself. That’s what I’m looking for.”

Barcelona make Mohamed Salah assurance

Barcelona are said to have told Mohamed Salah he can join them next summer.

The top scoring Liverpool forward has one more year left on his current contract and will be available for free in 2023.

The Mirror report that interest from the Spanish Liga side is one reason for him delaying signing a new deal.

Barcelona already have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring and have been linked with Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski as well as Wolves’ Ruben Neves.

Chelsea handed Robert Lewandowski blow as striker CONFIRMS next club

Robert Lewandowski has confirmed the only transfer offer he is considering is from Barcelona.

Polish international Lewandowski has firmly stated his desire to leave the Bundesliga champions this summer despite his current contract running until 2023.

Lewandowski’s future is dominating the agenda at the Allianz Arena, but former president Uli Hoeness hinted the club will hold the 33-year-old to his contract, if they cannot sign a replacement.

However, Lewandowski has continued on his crusade to secure a departure from the club, with a major hint over his preference to join Barcelona in the coming weeks.

“I want to leave Bayern Munich, that’s for sure”, as per an interview with Onet Sport.

“Loyalty and respect are more important than business but they don’t want to listen to me.

“I’ve always been at the club’s full disposal, but the best thing is to find a solution together. You can’t decide by going in one direction only.

“Something inside me is dead, I want to go away to have more emotions in my life.

“Who would want to join Bayern knowing what’s happening to me?

“I have not considered any other offer than that of Barcelona.”

Real Madrid agree Aurelien Tchouameni terms with Monaco

Real Madrid have reportedly agreed a verbal agreement with Monaco over Aurelien Tchouameni.

And the transfer deal is worth more than £85m, according to The Athletic.

Real and Monaco are now hashing out the final details of the deal before officially announcing the midfielder’s transfer.

The France international spurned interest from Liverpool, Man United and PSG to join Real.

Tammy Abraham ready to push Harry Kane

Tammy Abraham is ready to push skipper Harry Kane for his England place – amid links to Arsenal and Liverpool.

But Roma’s ex-Chelsea striker will also be happy to be understudy to the man who is eyeing England’s all-time scoring record.

Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate challenged Abraham, 24, to prove he is the right striker to put the pressure on 49-goal Kane to keep on delivering as he chases Wayne Rooney’s record mark of 53 — or even replace him.

Abraham said: “I think for every player that’s the mentality you’re supposed to have — to be positive.

“Of course, we are all buzzing for Harry, we want him to smash the record and we’re always here to support him.

“Whenever I’m given a chance if I’m on a pitch with him, I’ll try and help him to get to his targets.

“But for me, it’s all about whenever you get the opportunity, to just try and grab it with two hands and just show what you are made of.”

Harry Kane’s late penalty prevented England from losing two consecutive Nations League matches after playing 1-1 draw against Germany on Tuesday night.

The Three Lions conceded shortly after the interval, courtesy of a brilliant team goal – finished off superbly by Jonas Hofmann.

But Nico Schlotterbeck’s clumsiness in the box enabled Harry Kane to level up the scoring and overtake Sir Bobby Charlton in the English goal scoring rankings.

Former Chelsea star aims dig at Atletico Madrid

Former Atletico Madrid star Diego Costa has aimed a dig at the club as his search for a new team continues.

The Spanish international is a free agent heading into the summer market after terminating his contract with Brazilian powerhouse Atletico Mineiro in January.

Costa left Atletico in January 2020, in another free transfer exit, after returning to Los Rojiblancos from Premier League giants Chelsea in 2017.

The veteran striker has endured an inconsistent spell after his second stint in Spain despite starring for Diego Simeone’s side in 2013/14.

He is on radar of clubs in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Brazil and the United States, as he aims to seal a final contract, but his frustration has been fired at Simeone and Atletico in a critical statement.

“Atletico Madrid is not at a level to challenge in Europe”, as per a YouTube interview with Pinhado, as reported via Marca.

“It’s a lie. Mineiro, in terms of structure, quality, and in other areas, is better.

“I’m not going to lie to you. The training facilities are s**t and the academy is dead.”

Costa is expected to agree a short term deal with a new club in the coming weeks, however, the 33-year-old could retire from football if an acceptable offer is not received.
