Thiago Silva wants Neymar at Stamford Bridge, says “he has to come to Chelsea”

Neymar’s Brazil team-mate and former PSG player Thiago Silva would be keen for him to move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The forward, who joined PSG from Barcelona in a world-record £200m deal in 2017, contributed 13 goals and eight assists in 28 matches last season.

The 30-year-old reportedly wanted to stay put and help the club fight for a first Champions League title but has now changed his mind because he is ‘not feeling the love’ at PSG.

“He has to come to Chelsea,” Silva told Jornal do Commercio .

“If it happens, it will be for the best. He doesn’t need to comment. As of now I don’t know anything, but I hope it will happen.”

Despite racking up 100 goals and 60 assists in 144 games for the club, PSG will find it difficult to offload the Brazil international due to the money involved.

Neymar’s £600,000-a-week contract is set to be extended to June 2027 at the end of the month and not many clubs can afford such an outlay.

RMC notes that the star’s former club, Barcelona, do not have the funds to sign him, while Manchester United would need to offload Cristiano Ronaldo first and Newcastle would represent a major step down in a World Cup year. Chelsea are considered a possibility following Todd Boehly’s takeover.

Chelsea beat Arsenal, Barcelona to Raphinha as Blues agree winger’s fee with Leeds

Chelsea have reached a full agreement at club level with Leeds United over a transfer fee for Raphinha.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Leeds have accepted a bid in the region of £60m for the Brazilian winger.

Negotiations over personal terms are now said to be ongoing, with new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly pushing hard to wrap up a deal in the not-too-distant future.

The Brazilian ace had been heavily linked with the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona after informing Leeds of his desire to leave the club earlier this summer.

It is said that Thomas Tuchel has identified Raphinha as a target due to his ability in one-on-one situations and would like to bring him to Stamford Bridge alongside Raheem Sterling before the new Premier League campaign gets underway.

Revealed: Real reason why Petr Cech left Chelsea

Petr Cech’s Chelsea exit reportedly came about after a disagreement with Todd Boehly over Romelu Lukaku’s future.

And the Telegraph claims Cech decided to leave after finding his influence as technical director significantly reduced.

Key allies Bruce Buck and Marina Granovskaia were both shown the door this month.

It meant boss Thomas Tuchel was given a greater say over transfers.

And the German made it clear to interim sporting director Boehly that he did not want Lukaku anywhere near his squad.

But Cech, along with Granovskaia, wanted to keep Lukaku at Chelsea for at least another season.

Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar reacts to Chelsea push to sign him

Inter Milan ace Milan Skriniar is reportedly claiming to be unaware of Chelsea’s interest in him as the west London club are keen to sign him.

The Blues made him their transfer target after being put off by Matthijs de Ligt’s £102million price-tag at Juventus.

And Tuchel has now turned his attention to Inter ace Skriniar.

But the Blues’ interest is news to the centre-back, according to FcInterNews,it.

They claim Skriniar or his camp were unaware of Chelsea’s attention until very recently.

As the Blues are yet to mount a bid for Skriniar, the report adds.

The 27-year-old Slovakian is rated as one of Europe’s best in his position.

And he has spent the last few years excelling in a back three, making him ideal for Tuchel’s system.

Gabriel Jesus completes Arsenal medical, jersey number revealed

Gabriel Jesus has reportedly completed his medical as he gets set to complete his a £45million move to Arsenal from Manchester City.

The 25-year-old was seen getting out of a car and hugging the club’s technical director and Brazilian compatriot Edu, as he arrived in north London on Tuesday morning.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Jesus successfully completed his medical and an official statement is ‘pending’ to confirm his move to the Emirates.

He is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year contract at Arsenal, as he looks to get regular starting time after failing to hold down a starting spot under Pep Guardiola.

Jesus would be Arsenal’s fourth signing of the summer, following Brazilian teenager Marquinhos, Portuguese midfielder Fabio Vieira and goalkeeper Matt Turner.

The Brazilian is reportedly going to be handed Arsenal’s jersey No. 9.

Revealed: Mikel Arteta’s promise that made Gabriel Jesus to join Arsenal

Gabriel Jesus opted to join Arsenal after they made him a promise that no other club could.

Jesus was keen to play a central role as a striker for the club he left Man City to join.

And the Gunners were the only side who could promise him the opportunity to do, according to 90min.

This was the main reason why the Brazilian chose to head to North London, the report added.

Chelsea and Real Madrid were also tracking the attacker.

Cristiano Ronaldo warned against Chelsea move

Cristiano Ronaldo will burn his briges with Man United if he joins Chelsea, according to Glen Johnson.

Johnson told GGrecon: “If he goes to Chelsea then he’d burn his bridges at Manchester United.

“From Chelsea’s perspective, he’s a massive brand and he may be expensive, but you’d probably make that money back in two weeks through shirt sales.

“He may cost a fortune but the club would probably make more by just having him. Signing Ronaldo is like signing a commercial deal.

“I don’t think Ronaldo can change Chelsea’s fortunes as a player now, but I think having him in the dressing room would.

“On the pitch now, he’s not the Ronaldo we all want to see, but him being in the dressing room will get another 5% out of everyone around him.”

Chelsea plot revenge move for exciting Barcelona youngster

Chelsea are plotting transfer revenge on Barcelona as they are reportedly eyeing the Catalan club’s starlet Alejandro Balde,

The teenager, who is currently part of the Barcelona B team, has been training with the first-team squad.

But he is desperate to play matches and is set to tell Barca chiefs that he wants to consider a move away from the club unless he is guaranteed more gametime throughout the 2022/23 campaign.

Barcelona are set to sign Andreas Christensen this summer when his contract with Chelsea expires. And the Spanish giants could also attempt to prise Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta away from Stamford Bridge.

According to The Mirror, Chelsea tried to sign Balde a year ago but didn’t have any success. But they are considering making a move for the left-back once again during the current transfer window and will use Barca’s interest in Alonso and Azpilicueta to try and negotiate a deal for him.

Balde came through the Barcelona academy and made his first-team debut under previous manager Ronald Koeman as a late substitute against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last September. He has gone on to make five La Liga appearances and played in two Champions League matches last season.

His current contract is set to keep him at the Nou Camp until the summer of 2024. But if Barca can’t offer him the opportunities he is looking for, he could well persuade club bosses to let him depart over the coming months.
