Manchester City’s reported move for Chelsea prime target DENIED

Despite reports to the contrary, Manchester City are reportedly not currently looking to sign highly-rated RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol.

City have been linked with the Croatian defender throughout the transfer window but it seems unlikely the club will move for another centre-back at this juncture. The Sky Blues were eyeing potential replacements for Nathan Aké when it appeared the Dutchman was heading to Chelsea but the collapse of that transfer effectively ended their interest in any central defenders.

It is understood that The Cityzens are prioritising the signing of at least one left-back, with it looking increasingly likely the club will secure the services of Sergio Gomez. However, per David Ornstein, City are also keen to add a more ‘senior’ fullback to their ranks, alongside Gomez.

And The Daily Mail have seemingly rubbished yesterday’s reports of the Sky Blues launching a bid for the 20-year-old.

The outlet have reported that Bild’s claims are ‘inaccurate’ and that the club have not tabled any bid for the young centre-back.

Chelsea want to sign former Arsenal star

Chelsea are considering a move for former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano wrote on Twitter: “Chelsea are now considering Pierre Emerick Aubameyang as potential new striker.

“Discussions have already started on player side, still no bid to Barcelona.

“He’s one of the names in Chelsea list after meeting for Sesko and other targets.”

Wesley Fofana hints at imminent Chelsea move

Wesley Fofana has dropped a major hint over a move to Chelsea by deleting traces of Leicester City from his social media profiles.

The Frenchman is a priority target for the Blues, who want the defender to help replace Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christsensen after their departures from the club.

According to the Metro, the 24-year-old is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge but the Foxes are demanding a fee of around £80million, which would make him the joint-most expensive defender of all-time alongside Harry Maguire.

That price hasn’t put off Chelsea, though, and the Blues will attempt to include players in the deal in order to bring the overall price down.

While there’s still someway to go before any deal is completed, it would appear that Fofana has made his mind up on a move away from the King Power Stadium.

Fofana signed a new long-term deal with the Foxes in March after recovering from an ACL injury, which kept him out for seven months.

But the Frenchman feels the opportunity of joining Chelsea is too good to turn down and he is pushing for the club to agree a fee for him.

Fofana has already reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea and he stands to significantly increase his salary with a move to west London.
