(Watch Goal on Video) Enzo Fernandez consolidates Blues lead! 54’… Aston Villa 0-3 Chelsea

Fernandez goes hunting on the edge of the area and wins a good-looking freekick after getting muddled up with Tielemans drawing back his foot for a strike.

10 yards ahead of the D, bullish Chelsea players bob over the ball, jostling for it, but it’s the World Cup winner who gets to kick it – and what a kick!

It goes flying past Martinez, an absolute peach!

(Watch Goal on Video) Jackson scores! 20’… Aston Villa 0-2 Chelsea

What a terrific move and Chelsea are threatening to run riot.

Madueke drops deep and is allowed to turn midway inside Villa’s half – not a clue where the midfield is….

He is allowed to drive and lays it off for Gusto out on the right who is allowed to pick a cross out under absolutely no pressure from Moreno.

He swings it in with great pace and the centre halves get nowhere near it and Jackson powers a header into the bottom corner from eight yards.

Aston Villa are all at sea in defence, and in the face of gaping holes in the box, nothing can stop the highly inconsistent striker – who now has a goal and an assist upon his return in royal blue.

(Watch Video) Gallagher scores! 10’… Aston Villa 0-1 Chelsea

Gallagher hands off to Jackson running down the right, the forward sneaking the ball to Madueke in the centre of the area.

He flicks the ball to Gallagher, and the England international smashes his effort past Martinez.

Few in the Chelsea side are as deserving of a goal as the sometime captain – but this is just the first of his campaign.

Revealed: Pochettino told four players he can’t trust at Chelsea

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has been warned he can’t “trust” one of his key players as the problems begin to mount at Stamford Bridge.

After the harrowing 4-1 defeat at Liverpool on Wednesday, the Blues were equally inept on Sunday, beaten 4-2 at home by Wolves with the players jeered off by the home fans.

And their latest display was savaged by ESPN pundit Steve Nicol, who particularly critical of club captain Thiago Silva, Raheem Sterling, Conor Gallagher and Axel Diasi.

The ex-Liverpool man also questioned the recruitment policy at the club, arguing they’ve brought in poor players.

“Conor Gallagher doesn’t get anywhere close to any of the top four sides,” he said. “Raheem Sterling, you can’t trust this guy. When he steps on the field, you don’t know what you’re gonna get. Sometimes he’s good, sometimes he disappears.”

Nicol’s observations on Sterling are seemingly backed up by stats, with the England international having not scored in eight Premier League games. He was hauled off in the second half against Wolves, and booed as he made his way to the dugout.

As for Chelsea’s shambolic defensive display, he added: “Disasi. Who bought him? You’ve got Silva who’s 39. This is a bad team. Whoever picked these players has shown that they’re in the wrong job.”

Former Chelsea star blasts Mauricio Pochettino, recommends shock name as successor

Mauricio Pochettino “doesn’t have a clue” what he is doing at Chelsea, Emmanuel Petit has claimed.

The Blues are enduring another difficult season following the Argentinian’s appointment as manager in the summer, currently sitting 11th in the Premier League table.

There have been suggestions that Pochettino is close to losing his job, with his record similar to that of Graham Potter when the former Brighton boss was let go last season.

Last time out, Chelsea lost 4-2 at home to Wolves as they were leapfrogged by their opponents in what was another disappointing performance from Pochettino’s side.

Speaking to compare.bet, former Chelsea man Petit slammed the current Blues’ boss for his work, pointing to some specific examples of reasons for his struggles.

“I was so disappointed with Chelsea’s performance against Wolves,” he said. “They looked so disorganised, were tactically a mess, no fighting spirit, communication, or character. I felt pity on the Chelsea fans.

“I was thinking, why would you put Nkunku up front as a lone striker? Does he even know what Nkunku does best? In Germany and France it is well known that he cannot play by himself up front and never has done that. He is very good in the 10 or in a two up front, but he can’t do that role at all.

“Pochettino refuses to mold his tactic around his players and the composition of the team just doesn’t make sense at the moment. He doesn’t have a clue what he wants to do, and his body language is not good at all, he looks like he is on the way out already.”

And there was one man who the Frenchman was eyeing up as a potential replacement should Pochettino be given his marching orders soon.

Jose Mourinnho has already managed Chelsea twice and has gone down as a club legend for his work in his first spell at the club, a stay that saw him win two league titles, two League Cups and one FA Cup.

The 61-year-old, who was recently sacked by Roma, would at least give the Blues something to work with, Petit claimed.

“I’ve seen the speculation that Mourinho could come in with John Terry as his assistant,” he said. “When you think about it, it could be something interesting. He would give the team character and personality.

“At the moment they are a broken team and he could be the man to come in and fix it. I actually think they need a manager who will have a proper vision of what needs to be done with the players that are there.

“They have to stop buying players and looking at how they can develop what they have there already. Chelsea need to develop an identity, because at the moment they don’t have one.”
