Osimhen transfer saga takes dramatic twist as striker confronts Napoli

Victor Osimhen has reportedly told Napoli about his desire to move to Chelsea, according to reports.

The 25-year-old transfer saga looks like it is set to go down to the wire as an agreement between all relevant parties has proven difficult to reach.

Osimhen’s preference is to move to Stamford Bridge, L’Équipe understands, with the publication reporting that he is “very annoyed” with current club Napoli amid negotiations, as he fears the move breaking down.

Fraser (Fletcher) Gillan on X said: “Update: Understand Victor Osimhen has made it clear to Napoli he wants to move Chelsea. Napoli and Chelsea trying to get a deal done but things are very tense.

“Also had reports of low wage offer from Chelsea shot down by sources who say they have made a very good offer and are working on a structure.”

Fabrizio Romano said: “I got a call one of my sources today, he’s been working on some of the biggest deals in 25 years, and he told me he’s never seen anything like this Osimhen deal, it’s completely crazy, people involved don’t know where he could end up”

Mikel Arteta reacts to Raheem Sterling’s Arsenal rumours

Mikel Arteta has refused to be drawn on rumours regarding Raheem Sterling’s potential move to Arsenal today.

Sterling is out of Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca’s first-team plans and could be on th eway out before tonight’s deadline.

The former Man City man is said to be happy living in his home city London so Arsenal could turn out to be the perfect move.

Arteta said: “You know that I cannot talk about another player.”

Newly signed Arsenal player injured after just one training session

Bad news for new signing Mikel Merino as he is set to spend a few weeks on the sidelines with a fractured shoulder after just ONE training session.

Team-mate Gabriel landed on Merino after the Spaniard fell to the floor during training.

“He has a shoulder injury and it looks like he will be out for a few weeks”.

“He landed on the floor and Gabi landed on top of him, it’s a fracture probably”, Arteta said.

Revealed: How Napoli ‘irritated’ Al-Ahli over Victor Osimhen

Reports in Italy have revealed the reason Al-Ahli called off the move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian forward was expected to join Al-Ahli in an €80m deal after reaching an agreement with the Saudi side.

However, according to Di Marzio, Napoli have irritated Al-Ahli by requesting €5m extra, so the Saudi club quickly turned to Southampton’s Ivan Toney.

According to the BBC, sources close to the English striker are confident of completing the deal today.

Chelsea remain interested in Osimhen, as Sky Italia reports that the Blues directors are currently in Naples. However, contrary to Al-Ahli, Enzo Maresca’s side don’t have an agreement with the striker.

Jadon Sancho’s Chelsea talks ‘advanced’ despite Erik ten Hag’s expectation

Despite Erik ten Hag stating that he expects Jadon Sancho to remain at Manchester United, the Athletic are reporting that the winger is likely to complete a move to Chelsea.

The report states that talks over a loan deal with an obligation to buy are ‘advanced’, with Sancho keen on joining the Blues. When asked if Sancho would be staying at the club earlier today, Ten Hag said: “As I know, yeah.

“He is a player in our squad and we are happy with him. We need a good squad, we need depth in the squad, we have to play many games until January, the new format of Europe. After the break we will play every third day so we absolutely need options.”

Chelsea have submitted an official bid to Manchester Utd for Jadon Sancho, according to Fabrizio Romano.

According to the report, the deal is an initial loan proposal, with terms similar to that offered by Juventus. However, the total package is expected to be higher.

Sancho is reportedly open to the move.

A final deal is now set to be struck between the clubs if agreement can be found.

Victor Osimhen angry with Napoli

Reports in Italy claim Victor Osimhen has been very angry with Napoli in recent hours over the transfer saga involving Chelsea and Al-Ahli.

His proposed transfer to Chelsea, according to Tanziloic, is looking very difficult and now he does not think it will happen. A last-ditch solution is still being worked on.

The Athletic reports that Osihmen must give the Blues a greenlight over a move to Stamford Bridge before the club can advance talks with Napoli.

He is reportedly furious with Napoli for failing to agree a fee with Al-Ahli or Chelsea.

Napoli ace Osimhen is pushing to join Chelsea in the last hours of the summer transfer window after a move to Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League fell apart.

However, according to transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri and L’Equipe journalist Loic Tanzi, the Partenopei are not ready to let him move to the Premier League.

Chelsea, in fact, have not yet matched Napoli’s asking price, even in the reduced version in the final hours of the transfer market.

Osimhen has a €130m clause in his contract, but the Partenopei are ready to sell him for €80m plus bonuses.

Al-Ahli had a deal in place with the 25-year-old, but according to Sky Sport Italia, Napoli raised their request by €5m, pushing the Saudi side to get Ivan Toney from Brentford instead.

Now, both Tavolieri and Tanzi claim that Chelsea are Osimhen’s favourite option and that the striker is pushing to move to Stamford Bridge.

Tanzi says that Osimhen is “very angry” with his club, while, according to Tavolieri, there’s a “big fight ongoing” between Osimhen and the Partenopei.

Al Ahli were interested in Osihmen, but their recruitment of Ivan Toney looks to have thwarted the move.

Latest Reports: Al-Ahli’s fears confirmed as Victor Osimhen makes last-minute dramatic U-turn

Chelsea have reportedly booked medical for Victor Osimhen in Naples ahead of his move to the west London club thereby confirming Al-Ahli’s doubt about the striker’s interest in the Saudi club.

The Nigeria international has generated tremendous transfer interest among Europe’s top clubs and Al-Ahli in this transfer window.

Reports from Italy claim that Chelsea are very optimistic a deal is close to be reached with Osimhen.

The striker’s agent, Roberto Calenda, had insisted that his client wanted to continue playing in Europe, and Osimhen has now been offered a chance to do so by Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea. Despite offering him a mouth-watering contract, he is obviously not keen about the move to the Saudi club.

And, Al-Ahli can only sign one between Osimhen and Ivan Toney, so the Brentford striker is Plan B in case the Napoli star backs out, with Chelsea hovering.

Multiple sources this morning reported that Napoli had shaken hands with Al-Ahli in a deal worth €80m including add-ons for the Super Eagles star.

Crucially, they also noted that Osimhen had agreed personal terms with a contract worth €40m per season, plus a decisive release clause for well under €100m that would be active from the summer of 2026.

However, considering Chelsea are also still in the mix for the Napoli forward, Al-Ahli seem to be covering their backs with an alternative deal.

Brentford accepted a €45m offer for Toney, but the Saudi Pro League club only has one slot left to bring in a foreign player, so cannot sign both.

The 25-year-old Nigeria striker is reportedly keen to join Chelsea, despite reports earlier this morning suggesting he’d agreed a deal to join Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli.

Osihmen has been Chelsea’s top target all summer, but the club are waiting to see if the goal-scorer will agree to a deal.

Chelsea Player Ratings vs Servette: Nkunku, Mudryk, George shine as Badiashile, others fluff lines

Chelsea survived a late scare to book their place in the UEFA Conference League league phase as Enzo Maresca’s side lost 2-1 to Servette, but progressed 3-2 on aggregate. The Italian fielded a much-changed Blues side with Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo among the key players rested, but two players in particular struggled.

The west London outfit took a 2-0 lead to Switzerland after their professional display at Stamford Bridge. But in the noisy Stade de Geneve arena, it would prove to be a different test for Enzo Maresca.

Christopher Nkunku made no mistake from the spot to put the visitors in control, but a defensive lapse allowed Jeremy Guillemenot to fire the Swiss outfit level at the interval. Servette’s Enzo Crivelli ensured a grandstand finish with a fine header, but a nervy Chelsea side held on.

Filip Jorgensen 5/10

Out of nowhere, the Norwegian was picking the ball out of his net after a quiet first half and he could do nothing to stop the opener. The second was less convincing, although he made a smart stop to deny Antunes at 1-1.

Axel Disasi 4/10

Brushed off transfer speculation to make his first start under the new boss and looked solid enough in dealing with Antunes. But when he was required to cut out Servette’s attack, he refused to take the booking and Chelsea paid the price.

Tosin Adarabioyo 5/10

With every game he looks more settled at the back and he certainly appears more comfortable being the third of the centre-backs in possession.

Benoit Badiashile 4/10

Earned himself an unnecessary booking to put him on the edge and lost his marker Guillemenot for the Servette equaliser. Levi Colwill won’t be feeling threatened about his place.

Renato Veiga 6/10

The 20-year-old is gradually working himself into Maresca’s thoughts and looked assured in playing the left-back/central hybrid role often occupied by Marc Cucurella.

Enzo Fernandez 6/10

The Argentinian was unlucky to see his 25-yard thunderbolt tipped wide by Frick and assumed his job as the midfield dictator alongside Veiga. But defensively, he still has a big improvement to make to play in the double pivot. Rested on the hour.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall 6/10

The £30m summer signing is still finding his feet in his system despite playing under Maresca. A tad awkward in managing his deployment as a left-sided No 10 alongside Mudryk.

Noni Madueke 6/10

Fresh off his first England international call-up and a hat-trick against Wolves, the winger didn’t have his best game on the right as Servette doubled up against him and missed a golden chance. Given a rest after being replaced by George.

Christopher Nkunku 7/10

Surprised to see him benched on Sunday, but the Frenchman responded by taking full creative responsibility, demanding the ball in possession. As he did in the second leg, the £60million man smashed home.

Mykhaylo Mudryk 7/10

Had a point to prove after he was hooked at half time by Maresca at the weekend, and his alertness to react to Veiga’s long ball forward was crucial in winning the penalty for Nkunku to convert. Wasteful in the first half, Mudryk was more involved in the second and went on a lung-busting 80-yard run before seeing his effort saved. An improved display all in all.

Marc Guiu 5/10

Another opportunity for the 18-year-old to prove himself after missing a few gilt-edged chances in the first leg. But aside from his relentless pressing and a neat pass for Madueke, he was probably the least involved of the Chelsea XI. Brought off for Jackson.

Substitutes

Tyrique George (on 62′) 7/10

The 18-year-old was handed his debut and wasted no time in taking full advantage, taking on defenders with direct dribbling.

Moises Caicedo (on 62′) 6/10

The Ecuadorian took some time to get into the game as Servette moved from strength to strength.

Nicolas Jackson (on 62′) 5/10

Looked lively on the ball but wasteful in the final third. Booked.

Cole Palmer (on 72′) 7/10

Replaced Mudryk and showed his class, unlucky to hit the bar.

Victor Osimhen set to make decision as Al-Ahli present new offer amid Chelsea advances

Victor Osimhen is reportedly considering joining Al-Ahli, who have offered him a higher salary than Chelsea, so, evidently, the Nigerian ace must choose his priority.

Only a few days ago, Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, demanded ‘respect’ for his client as Napoli were ready to sell their star striker to Al-Ahli for around €70m.

Calenda insisted that his client wanted to continue playing in Europe, and Osimhen has now been offered a chance to do so by Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea.

The latest report from Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the Blues are ready to match Al-Ahli’s €70m bid, but their salary offer for the Nigeria international is not as good as Al-Ahli’s.

For this reason, both Gazzetta and Sky Sport, via Football Italia, claim that Osimhen is considering the Saudi proposal.

At this stage and with only a few days left before the end of the summer transfer window, it is evident that Osimhen must choose between his ambition to continue competing in Europe or pick the Saudi Pro League instead, earning more money but playing in a less exciting league.

Napoli have already found a replacement for the 25-year-old as Romelu Lukaku arrived on Wednesday morning to undergo medical tests and complete a €30m transfer from Chelsea.
