Atletico Madrid have reportedly set a loose deadline to close the sale of Joao Felix to Chelsea

The Rojiblancos have been in talks with the west London club for several weeks, discussing multiple deals.

From within Atleti, there is a determination to finalise a deal as soon as possible.

Currently, an agreement is not close, but Chelsea have been given the hurry-up to meet demands – that’s because a loose deadline has been set to wrap things up, as per Diario AS via Football Espana.

Atleti want to unveil Gallagher alongside their other summer signings. The presentation takes place next Wednesday, so the club’s idea is to have the Felix deal wrapped up before then.

It remains to be seen whether Felix does end up returning to Chelsea. Atletico Madrid will be determined to make this the case, so that Gallagher is able to finally join Diego Simeone’s squad.
