Brazilian club Palmeiras tell Chelsea transfer fee for star as Blues seek replacement for Fikayo Tomori

helsea are interested in Palmeiras centre-half Gustavo Gomez, according to Paraguayan outlet La Nacion.

Another report claims that his Brazilian employers have become aware of an approach from Stamford Bridge.

Palmeiras have subsequently told Chelsea to stump up the ‘millions’ it would take to sign him. While his Transfermarkt value sits at €6million (£5.1million) his true valuation remains unclear.

The Blues are looking to strengthen their depth at centre-half following the expected departure of Fikayo Tomori to Milan, and Gomez is seen as a reliable option.

Gomez, 28, previously used to play for Milan between 2016 and 2019 before returning to South America to play for the Brazilian club.

He is a full Paraguayan international since 2013 and has made 45 appearances since then, scoring three goals.
