Chelsea legend Eden Hazard, now a free agent after being released by Real Madrid, had been offered the chance to join Messi at Inter Miami.

The David Beckham-owned Major League Soccer franchise announced on Sunday they had acquired an additional international roster spot for their squad in exchange for £116,000.

European football icons including Luis Suarez, Sergio Ramos and Hazard have all been linked.

However, Hazard is understood to have turned down the offer from the Florida outfit.

According to Voetbalkrant, the 32-year-old has no interest in leaving Europe for the MLS.
