Chelsea player ratings: Havertz, Alonso, Christensen, others stand out in victory over Everton (Check how Blues stars fared here)

Chelsea recorded another win, and another clean sheet. But it must be emphasized that the 2-0 scoreline flattered Everton as Thomas Tuchel’s honeymoon extended to 11 unbeaten games.

Meanwhile, the Evening Standard rate Tuchel’s squad after the win over Carlo Ancelotti’s side:

Edouard Mendy 6

Everton rarely got close enough to trouble him. Dealt with everything he had to.

Cesar Azpilicueta 7

Calvert-Lewin tried to target him when Everton went long – but he held his own against the bigger man

Andreas Christensen 7

Had the pace and timing to dispossess Richarlison when the Everton man looked set to go through one-on-one with Mendy. Another impressive performance.

Kurt Zouma 7

Did well coming into a back three after playing so little football. Largely untroubled.

Reece James 7

Stretched the game really well and frightened Everton with his runs forward. Everton couldn’t get behind him at the other end.

Jorginho 7

So many timely interceptions and controlled use of the ball saw Chelsea dominate in midfield from the off.

Mateo Kovacic 7

Energetic with his driving runs to perfectly complement Jorginho’s calm control. It is an effective partnership.

Marcos Alonso 8

A constant threat with his bursts forward and intelligent movement. Set up Chelsea’s opener and might have scored himself. Remarkable he was frozen out for so long under Lampard.

Kai Havertz 8

One of his brightest performances of the season as a false nine. His deflected shot put Chelsea in front and he won the penalty for their second. Saw a smart finish ruled out for handball, but his movement to create the chance was excellent.

Callum Hudson-Odoi 7

Interchanged well with Alonso. A role change for him as a split forward and had some dangerous moments including one curling effort.

Timo Werner 6

Twice failed to score when one-on-one with Pickford. Not as effective as he was when playing centrally against Liverpool, but still had golden chances to extend the margin of victory for Chelsea.

Substitutes

Mason Mount (Hudson-Odoi, ’66) 6

Some of Chelsea’s best attacking moments came after he added more creativity up front.

N’Golo Kante (Kovacic, 79’) 5

So nearly got a rare goal.

Christian Pulisic (Werner, 90’)

Substitutes: Kepa, Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Chilwell, Ziyech, Giroud
