Chelsea plot swoop for “New Kevin De Bruyne” this summer as AC Milan, Juventus, others circle

There are reports that Chelsea are on the verge of acquiring the sevices of Mads Bayer.

According to the Mirror, Chelsea want to bring the Brondby sensation to their youth set-up but Brexit rules could prevent that from happening, at least for now.

The 15-year-old Bayer is likened to Kevin De Bruyne in his home country of Denmark. He cannot sign a professional contract yet and is still under a school contract with Brondby which lasts until 2023, a situation akin to Jude Bellingham last year.

According to current Brexit rules, English teams cannot sign foreign players under the age of 18. Even the number of transfers for players under the age of 21 is restricted to three each window.

That would give a major boost to other teams interest in Bayer. AC Milan, Juventus, and Inter Milan are believed to have already held talks with the Danish U-17 international over a potential transfer.
