Reports have emerged in Italy over the sum of money Real Madrid, Inter Milan, LASK and Dinamo Zagreb from Mateo Kovacic’s transfer to Manchester City from Chelsea as a solidarity contribution.

The Croatia international has completed a summer move to the Etihad Stadium.

According to reports in England, the fresh Treble winners paid €29m to secure the midfielder’s signature from Chelsea.

Based on this fee, Inter will get circa €400,000 as a solidarity contribution.

This fee is paid to all clubs where a player who completes an international transfer has played between 12 and 23.

Kovacic, 29, spent two years at Inter, between 2013 and 2015, scoring eight goals in 97 appearances before joining Real Madrid for €29m. The Croatia international, winner of four Champions League titles in his career, played under Roberto Mancini, Walter Mazzarri and Andrea Stramaccioni at Inter.

According to Calcio&Finanza, Inter will get €435,000 following his transfer to Manchester City.

Real Madrid will earn €290,000, LASK €145,000 and Dinamo Zagreb €580,000.

Kovacic has signed a four-year contract at Manchester City.
