Former Arsenal stars slam Gunners after home loss to Chelsea, say club “have lost our DNA”

Arsenal icons Bacary Sagna and Emmanuel Petit launched a scathing attack on their former side after the home drubbing against Chelsea.

The pair worked as pundits for the match on French telly, and were left disgusted by the Gunners’ 2-0 defeat.

Sagna, 38, claimed that Arsenal have ‘lost their DNA’, while Petit, 50, told his old team to give him a call to help with player recruitment.

Appearing on RMC Sport, former right-back Sagna said: “When I watch Arsenal now, honestly, I know they are going to lose the majority of the time, that something is going to happen, that we are going to concede a stupid goal.

“When I was playing, anyone would be excited to join Arsenal.

“Now, we have lost our DNA.

“How can you spend 150million euros and only bring in young players.?

“It might be good for the future but someone has got to think about the present.”

Petit added: “I don’t feel anything watching Arsenal, I’ve become completely desensitised.”

“I feel nothing. What is the plan? We have spent close to the most in the Premier League this summer. I don’t understand it.”

He then continued: “Owners nowadays want to make money instead of winning titles.

“I think that in player recruitment I could bring a different perspective. If Arsenal call me, why not?”
