Inter Milan go for Antonio Conte, snub Mourinho

Reports in Italy claim Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta has decided Antonio Conte is the man to take the club forward.

The serie A giants are not satisfied with the performances of Luciano Spalletti’s team.

Calciomercato says Jose Mourinho had hoped to return to Inter this summer. But Marotta prefers Conte who will be given a hefty budget with the club backing him to rival Juventus for the Serie A title.

According to Tuttosport, Mourinho has made it clear to the current Nerazzurri patrons that he is more than happy for another spell on the bench.

He already took them to an historic Treble in 2010, winning Champions League, Scudetto and Coppa Italia.

Mou has repeatedly mentioned his love for Inter, particularly when Manchester United beat Juventus in the Champions League group stage this season, reports Football Italia.

However, Massimo Moratti is no longer at the club, having sold it to first Erick Thohir and then Suning.

It’s reported Inter President Steven Zhang and CEO Marotta would prefer to give the job to Conte, who was fired by Chelsea in pre-season.
