Inter Milan step up move for Romelu Lukaku, offer Manchester United striker five-year contract

Reports in England and Italy reveal that Inter Milan have stepped up their move for Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A club have agreed a five-year contract with the 26-year-old worth €7.5m per year plus bonuses, but must work out a transfer fee with Manchester United.

The striker has therefore given the go-ahead after his representatives whittled down the details of personal terms.

Meanwhile, as reported by the Sun, Lukaku is willing to take a pay-cut in order to secure a move to Inter Milan.

The Belgium international had already been a main target for Antonio Conte at Chelsea last year and was one of the first requests made when the idea of replacing Luciano Spalletti came about.

Sport Mediaset claim Conte is already in Milan today, but Inter are holding off on announcing he is the new Coach as a sign of respect for Spalletti.

That is because the current tactician’s brother died this morning.

Lukaku has failed to win over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since the Norwegian succeeded Jose Mourinho in December, with Marcus Rashford often preferred in a central role.
