Jose Mourinho has landed in Italy after his vacation, joked about the 10-day Serie A touchline ban, Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata rumours. “I don’t expect anything” from Roma’s transfer market.

The Portuguese coach has been back home for a couple of weeks and was greeted at the airport in Rome by reporters and fans.

He was asked if he expects a ‘gift’ from the club owners on the transfer market.

“I don’t expect anything. I am just happy to get back to work, I’m not built for vacations. On Monday morning at 8am, we work,” the Special One told them.

There is a clause in Dybala’s contract allowing him to leave for an overseas club for just €12m and Chelsea are believed to be looking at activating it. Will he talk to La Joya about that?

“I don’t know anything about a contract, obviously I talk to Paulo the way I talk to all my players.”

Does he also talk to Atletico Madrid striker Morata?

“No, I talk to my own players. I am not interested in the transfer market. I belong on the field, that’s where I work.”

Mourinho confirmed that he was asked to apologise to referee Daniele Chiffi in order to lower the 10-day touchline ban, but even that wasn’t enough, as he is forced to sit out the first two Serie A games of the season.

“I am not surprised by anything. With this heat in August, rather than sit on the bench, I will be somewhere nice and cool with air conditioning.”
