A report by The Sun states that representatives of Barcelona star Lionel Messi have ‘put the feelers out’ to Chelsea and Manchester United over a possible transfer in the coming window.

Manchester City have also been contacted by the Argentine’s camp. The Citizens have been told that they could seal a transfer for Messi if they can pay him £500,000-a-week.

Messi has enjoyed a scintillating campaign at Barcelona where he has scored 34 times, but a Camp Nou exit could be on the cards this summer.

And City refuse to rule out a move that could see them pay around £25million in wages to Messi each year. The report adds that Roman Abramovich has ‘long dreamed of signing Messi’.
