Manchester United target “is being investigated”

Bayern Munich star Matthijs de Ligt is reportedly being investigated for a “hit-and-run”.

That’s according to German outlet Bild, who claim that the police are looking into an incident that occurred on Wednesday morning.

The incident is said to have taken place near to Bayern Munich’s Sabener Strasse training ground.

It’s reported that De Ligt “rammed a parked car” before he “simply drove away” from the scene.

The report claims that De Ligt, 24, was recognised by witnesses, who subsequently called the police.

The Netherlands international’s £63,000 Audi Q8 e-tron was reportedly then towed away from the scene and impounded.

De Ligt could now face prison if he is found guilty of the hit-and-run.

A specialist lawyer from Munich told told Bild that: “If convicted you could ace up to three years in prison or a fine.

“Fines are often imposed when people are convicted of such crimes.”

De Ligt has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer as the Red Devils look to bolster their defence.
