Mason Mounts reveals what his Chelsea teammates discussed before Club World Cup final against Palmeiras

Chelsea star Mason Mount is hoping his club will win the Club World Cup and England will win the World Cup this year.

Mount said: “Maybe it is meant to be as both places are so close.

“Hopefully we can finish off this one on a massive high and I go into Qatar with a Club World Cup trophy – and then go all the way in that tournament.

“It’s going to be tough but I definitely feel like we can do very well at the World Cup. We’re very humble as a team and we know what we’ve got and what we can achieve as a group.

“We’re confident in that, we’ve still got some time to go and a lot of hard work to put in for the World Cup”

Mount added: “First of all, we have this game here. It’s a massive, massive game. You’re playing against a Brazilian team, and we all know how big the competition is in Brazil.

“We spoke about it before we even got out here, about how serious and how big it is for them.

“To put ourselves in a position to win another trophy for Chelsea is obviously massive for us.

“As a team, as a club and personally, we want to win things. We are on the right track and we want to keep going”
