Maurizio Sarri wants Lazio to arrange loan-to-buy deal for Chelsea attacking midfielder

Maurizio Sarri reportedly wants Lazio to request Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan.

The announcement of Sarri taking over at the Stadio Olimpico is expected within the next couple of days and the focus already turns to his transfer strategy.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the midfielder is the first reinforcement being asked for by Sarri, with Lazio most likely looking for a loan-to-buy deal from Chelsea, as is customary.

He has just completed a loan spell at Fulham and does not seem likely to get much playing time at Stamford Bridge next term either.

Loftus-Cheek is still only 25 years old, but had his best season at Chelsea under Sarri’s guidance, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in 40 competitive games.

The England international would therefore be eager to reunite with his coach from 2018-19.

He has three more years left on his contract and he’s one of the players Thomas Tuchel wants to take a look at this summer before deciding his fate.
