Napoli fans have put up a banner outside Maurizio Sarri’s home, warning the Chelsea boss not to ‘betray’ them by joining Juventus.
The Partenopei are the main rivals of the Old Lady in Serie A as their encounters always generate a lot of heat.
Sarri is the heavy favourite to replace Max Allegri at Juve, but a group of Napoli supporters, according to Football Italia, took to the Coach’s residence in Tuscany to issue him with a message.
“Boss, don’t betray your people. Naples loves you,” read the banner.
The 60-year-old was born in Naples and coached the Partenopei between 2015 and 2018, leading them to two runners-up finishes in Serie A.
Sarri was beloved by the fans, but left after disagreements with Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis, although he could be coming back to Serie A for their arch-rivals Juve.
De Laurentiis said recently he “would not be surprised” if Sarri joined Juventus. “Nothing surprises me after Gonzalo Higuain…”
His words:“I would not be surprised,” he answered. “Nothing surprises me after what happened with Higuain… In fact, it might be amusing.”
