Newcastle set to raid Serie A, plot sensational swoop for Juventus, AC Milan, Inter stars

Newcastle’s new owners are reportedly targeting a host of Serie A stars, including Juventus winger Federico Chiesa and Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has bought 80 per cent shares in the club and seem to have big plans for the future of the Magpies.

Antonio Conte has been linked with a possible move to Tyneside for the position as head coach, but he’s not the only Italian on the wish list.

Tuttosport reports the investors are looking to reinforce the squad at St James’ Park and have targeted big names from Serie A in order to do so.

With Kessie’s contractual issues at Milan, the newspaper claims Newcastle are ready to offer him a lucrative deal to arrive in the Premier League.

The Ivory Coast international’s deal with Milan expires in June 2022 and Corriere della Sera revealed he has already been offered to Inter.

Juventus starlet Chiesa is another name on the list of targets mentioned by Tuttosport and the Newcastle owners are reportedly looking at a possible deal for his Bianconeri teammate Matthijs de Ligt too.

The Dutch defender will have a €150m release clause in his contract, which is valid from next summer.

Inter stars Stefan de Vrij and Marcelo Brozovic are other possible candidates and the latter is currently in contract talks with the Nerazzurri.

Brozovic’s deal expires in June 2022 and the interest from Newcastle mean Inter must up their offer to tie him down to a new deal.
