Norwich manager aware of Chelsea threat despite Kante’s absence, says Lampard will eventually record success (Teams’ line-up here)

Norwich boss Daniel Farke has praised his counterpart Frank Lampard, and claimed success is a matter of time for the Blues boss.

The big news coming from the team announcements then is the omission of N’golo Kante from the Chelsea line-up.

Kante has been struggling with injury after the Blues’ draw with Leicester last week, and does not even get a spot on the bench.

The Canaries are hoping to build on last week’s 3-1 win over Newcastle with another positive result, but Farke is wary of facing a Chelsea side determined to earn their first victory.

“When I judge the first games it is not a question if Frank is going to be successful. It is when, Farke said as cited by the Mirror

“Hopefully not this weekend. They caused Liverpool an unbelievable amount of problems, in the first half against Leicester they played them off the park.

“There will be a moment when everything comes together and they produce an outstanding result and then I expect a few results like that in a row. That is the danger when you face such a side in this moment.”

Speaking of his opposite number in the dugouts, Farke added: “It is a bit surprising on one level to be managing such a big club so early in your coaching career but on the other hand it is not a surprise.

“Frank is a Chelsea legend who has done a really good job in his first coaching year at Derby.

“It might be harder not to have 10 years experience to draw on but I like his style and his work at Derby.”
