Revealed: Why Chelsea walked away from negotiations for world-class player

Chelsea have now walked away from negotiations with Inter Milan over a deal involving Romelu Lukaku.
According to the Evening Standard believe the Blues have placed a £38m price tag on Lukaku, although those on the recruitment team at Stamford Bridge walked away from discussions over the weekend after Inter Milan made an insulting offer.
It is not mentioned just how low Inter Milan’s bid was in the Evening Standard’s story.
However – according to the Daily Mail – the Italian giants offered £23m for Lukaku over the weekend, which feels low enough to have annoyed Chelsea.
The Telegraph have added that the Belgium international is willing to lose £1m-a-year in wages to help his move to Inter Milan materialise.
Lukaku – who was once called a “world class” striker by Thomas Tuchel – also has no plans to come back to London for training under Mauricio Pochettino, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
That is despite the Argentine making himself very clear in his first press conference as Chelsea manager, where he told the 30-year-old that he expects to see him at Cobham by July 13th if no agreement is found.
While Inter Milan continue to lowball Chelsea, the Blues have a better offer on the table from Juventus.
An update from Corriere dello Sport claims that Juventus are offering Chelsea the chance to sign Dusan Vlahovic for £21m if Lukaku is included in the deal.
