Romelu Lukaku in trouble as Juventus fans poised for faceoff

Romelu Lukaku has been told to stay away from Juventus by a group of the Italian club’s ultras amid transfer talks with Chelsea.

The Turin side’s Curva Sud group displayed a banner outside their Allianz Stadium home overnight which made clear their feelings on the former Inter Milan striker.

In reference to Lukaku’s unfortunate goalline block of Roberto Dimarco’s shot in the Champions League final, their banner read: “Lukaku stay in Milan, we already have a second goalkeeper.”

In addition, the group’s social media post claimed the player is “not welcome” at Juve as they have “not forgotten what happened”.

The Belgian striker, 30, does not have a future at Chelsea yet has failed to agree a move elsewhere so far this summer following talks with Inter and Al-Hilal.

One Inter ultras group dubbed Lukaku a “mercenary” who had “betrayed” the club where he won the Scudetto in 2021 by even contemplating a transfer to rivals Juve.

Chelsea are reported by Italian media to be in talks with Juventus over a player-plus-cash deal involving Dusan Vlahovic arriving in west London for Lukaku and a transfer fee that could reach £35million.

La Gazzetta dello Sport, via Evening Standard, state that talks have stalled over Vlahovic’s demand to match Lukaku’s current wage packet at Stamford Bridge, which is said to be worth in the region of £325,000-a-week.
